General question about hardy

Look,Greg Hardy is the missing piece of the puzzle in our defense because his absence alone has affected our entire DL and yes even though i agree KK Short has been good,he could and would be even better beside Hardy, imo, one of the best linebacking corps in the NFL has struggled to get off blocks and have very little space to roam, and our secondary deficiencies only become more pronounced because they are having to cover, way too long.If you dont believe me look at our defensive stats from last year and even include the Tampa Bay game this year and you can tell something is not array or missing.

we need hardy. pay the man. rather sign him and cut johnson. makes our d line extremely young and ready for the future. that way hopefully Ealy will step up and become what hardy had become to johnson.

if we cut johnson and lose hardy too we will  definetly take a major step back

I agree completely. This is Johnson's last year. Other than last week he hasn't been worth the money were paying him.

So if hardy gets through these legal troubles would you want to resign him for the large amount we're going to need to pay him? Or would you rather we spread that money around? Just curious..

He may not demand a large contract depending on the market situation. Keep in mind even if he's found innocent in court, he's been convicted in the court of public opinion, and any team that signs him is going to have to deal with at least some media foolishness.

Plus, he's pretty regularly demonstrated he can't stay away from trouble off the field. He might be willing to sign a 1 year prove it deal (which Gettleman seems to love) with the idea if he can keep his nose clean for a year, he can get a big long term contract after that.

That said, I can't see us doing any more than a one year deal with him. He's just too risky a player to give long term guaranteed money too.
