Nicks to Panthers revisited

top dawg

With as little of a contribution that Hakeem Nicks is making with the Colts, I've got to think that it has to be going through his mind that this one-year prove-it deal up in Indy isn't working quite like "the right situation" that he envisioned.

For Nicks' part, he recently said, "I still view myself as the best receiver in the league."

Surely he doesn't believe that he'll get paid $4mil next year with his current production, no matter how he's talking.  It just makes me wonder what really went on with his visit down here.  I've been able to catch a couple of Colts games this year, and it's not like Nicks is looking bad, but he still is fourth on the totem pole for targets from Luck (my, what a luxury).

Well, it's not like either he or G-man (who did offer a contract), shut the door on a Nicks return to Charlotte, and Nicks' production should warrant some type of modest number.  Do you think either side will take another look?  And do you believe that he could help this offense playing opposite of KB?

Of course Nicks may just decide to go to the highest bidder (which may just be Indy if he helps them to the dance).

Nicks made a judgement call and it didn't workout for him yet..... he figured he would play with luck and put up good numbers then land a big contract well, he never figured that he would end up being the 4th or 5th option. But he didn't want to be the number 1 when smitty was cut he felt the pressure would have been all on him. He never accounted for us drafting help like KB......he played himself.....

Nick's situation is strange. He would probably have been our #1 WR but he's only #4 for the Colts. My question would be, is Nicks highly overrated, or does the Colts have so many weapons he has to take a back seat?

Both ..... He doesn't like hard work.... he always plays the odds never tries to make his own way......
