We'll yield talented RB's too.  RB's and Oline work together like a secondary and a pass rush.  Notice how good DWill looked in the first game?  Even JSTEW was on track to have a real nice game against the Steelers.  Those guys get hurt and now the run game is atrocious.  A talented RB will only help our Oline.

i didn't really see that. but i would rather upgrade the oline because it creates two things. Running lanes and time in the pocket for Cam.

 

instead of upgrading our rb which only upgrades our running game and that's a maybe

Notice how Cam was taking sacks even with Gross at LT?  A lot of those sacks come because Cam holds the ball to long.  We're 3-2.  That's pretty good.  You don't get to 3-2 by having the worst secondary and worst OL in the league.  We have an average OL that could be improved, but it's not nearly as bad as people think it is.  The past 3 games our offense has been one dimensional with the injuries at RB.  It's a lot to ask the OL to keep Cam clean when there's no running threat, no read option qb keeper threat, no play action threat, and a QB that likes to hold the ball and wait for long developing routes.  If we improve our RB situation we'll have a better ability to keep a D off balance which only improves Oline play.

sorry but the eye test shows bell and chandler getting beat so badly it's comical. i was hoping for big time play from them. but they are what they are.

 

i understand what you are trying to say. But no, gross was not getting beat this bad. Not even fuging close lol. Gross arguably had his best season last year. RT is a wash with chandler/bell switched out. we can't even run behind our tackles because they are so awful. amini is basically a second year player and turner is a rookie. i have confidence in them becuase they have talent. our tackles? not so much.

I'm all for improving the Oline.  If some top 5 tackle falls to the middle late first round then snag him up.  I just think that Gurley will be the BPA when our pick comes and I'd rather pick him then reach for need especially when Gurley would fill a need. Better off snatching a T in the second and signing one in FA imo.

No Gross wasn't, but Cam has been sacked a ton and more then any QB since he came into the league.  It's his style of play.  You're sort of proving my point.  We need some veterans along the Oline.  We need to get a little older not younger along the OL.  Drafting an unknown commodity in the middle of the first might not be the answer.

Cam has been hit more than any qb in the league. thats not just sacks.

if you haven't noticed cam is getting better in the pocket. i agree with getting some veterans but dude we have no money. and they would probably suck just as much as bell and chandler if we did get what we could afford (which is basically nothing) and have to learn the system.
