Are you aware that he's the most talented back since AP to come out of college.  Maybe even more so.  I know the modern trend is to pick rbs outside of the first round, but this guy is the exception that proves the rule.

Personally if Gurley was around by the time we pick, I'm not sure how we couldn't take him. We're going to need a rb anyway. Cam, Benjamin, Gurley, Olsen is a damn nice offensive group.

. Dangelo and stewart will be gone with the next couple years, gettleman cant wait to get rid of them , hope we dont get rid of tolbert , just close your eyes and picture a back field with todd gurly and mike tolbert

I sort of like the idea of Gurley, Stewart, and Tolbert.  Personally I would love to see what kind of stress a Cam, Gurley read option offense would put on defenses.

I think people on here are forgetting that getting Gurley with a rooking contract would not only improve our running game dramatically, but also solve our financial woes at the position.  It's a win win.

People forget that DWILL was drafted in the 1st round, and he was worth that pick.

I don't think the Panthers could go wrong with Gurley in the first, but there's also Melvin Gordon at Wisconsin that is a beast in his own right.  I wouldn't mind either, and with Gurley's injury history, Gordon could be equally as good in the NFL.  Not as good all around as Gurley, and isn't as good of a receiver as Gurley, but putting up numbers that are just a hair better than Gurley's.

Saw this article on Gordon and I like!

If he's the next Adrian Peterson then I don't see how we don't draft him.

BPA

Because what has AP done for the Vikings?  Sure he gets alot of yards and TDs but overall is the team a playoff team?  Build a solid Oline and you can put any back in the backfield and he will get yards as long as he doesnt fumble.

2014

0

2013

0

2012

#3 Trent Richardson-Traded, Split Role

#31 Doug Marin- Starter, injuried may lose starting role

#32 David Wilson- No longer in league

2011

#31 Mark Ingram- Role player/Shares Load

2010

#9 CJ Spiller- shares role w/30+ RB

#12 Ryan Matthews- Shares Role

#30 Javid Best- No longer in leauge

2009

#12 Knowshon Moreno- Starter, then demoted, then a FA now a starter

#27 Donald Brown- Shares role

#31 Beanie Wells- No longer in league

2008

#4 Darren Mcfadden- Injured starter

#13 Johnathan Stewart- Injuried starter

#22 Felix Jones- No longer in league

#23 Rashad Mendenhall- No longer in league

#24 Chris Johnson- Starter(but on last league in NYC)

Seriously I could keep going to the past ten years but the eye test says that maybe 1 or 2 of those first round draft picks have been worth it (homer glasses off). The leauge has shifted (just like it does every 10-15 years with schemes and rules changing) that RB's arent valued like they once were. Todd Gurley could be the next AP, or he could be like the other 15 first round draft picks since 2008.

People can get mad at the NCAA all they want about the hypocrisy of their rules (and trust me I agree, its stupid for the most part) but how many players have been in the news the past twenty years for breaking the same rule? Gtfo if you think these star players aren't getting helped some way for money if they need it so why start signing autographs now? Just wait 2-3 years till you declare then do it. Just fuging wait so you wont mess up your college career and your potential draft status

AP has never had a QB, a good defense.  He's always been the primary offensive weapon.  You're right we do need Oline help though.  I would rather not settle for a second tier OT in the middle of the first round when I can have the best player in CFB however.  I think we should focus on offense this next draft.

1st RB (if Gurley is there), 2nd T/WR, 3rd T/WR, 4th DE/LB/S.  If we can get a decent Tackle in the 2nd it would be sweet.

I would love it if we had CJ Spiller or Mark Ingram.  Most of the guys on that list weren't in pro style offenses like Gurley is.  Guy can pass pro too.

Not all those guys are bums either.  Sometimes I wonder how great JSTEW's career would have been if not for all the injuries.
