"Wide receiver is not a problem" [Phrase should be banned]

Does this o line give Cam 4.5 seconds? Which is avg speed of nfl wrs. That's 40 yds.

Successful passing teams use some of the ideas of the original west coast offense and that's quick slants and getting guys in space.

We don't have guys that are match up problems like that.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-podcasts/0ap3000000408277/DDFP-TV-Andrew-Luck-or-Russell-Wilson

Just watch the video. Elliot Harrison mentions how Luck is overrated but he'll take him over Wilson because Wilson is not a good pocket QB and he can't continue running around like that. How anyone can watch a SEA game and come away that Wilson thrives in the pocket just baffles me. He's good at what he does but he's not a good pocket QB.

Cause most people don't watch the games (including here).

They just hear what the media says, and repeats it, or just assumes a guy like Wilson's a good pocket QB cause people say he's good.

If you go to pff you can find that information easily. It contradicts your claim. Aaron Rodgers led the NFL in 2011 with a 60.7% completion and Karpernick in 2012 with a 60.6% completion in balls that travelled 20 or more yds in the air

Not sure about the completion percentage. However, Newton was definitely amongst the leaders in +20 passes during his rookie, and maybe his second year as well.

This is one of the reasons why Newton had such a high YPA average his first, and maybe second year.

The same can be said for Newton and the almighty Luck.

This is the crux of the issue.  We do not take advantage of all of Cam's strengths, or try to minimize the offense's weaknesses enough (ex. more quick strike passes to limit the pressure Cam regularly receives, or even putting more offensive weapons out there forcing the defense to give up on stacking the box and blitzing us to death...I saw Indy do it quite a bit, and even though Luck had some pressure, there was almost always someone free he could get the ball to quickly).

I don't have the problem with Shula that some do, but I do think he is somewhat like Fox in that he will force players to fit his system rather than adjust the system to fit the players.  The read-option is not enough of an adjustment for a player like Cam.  Sure, he does it well, and it should be a part of the offense, but it really doesn't take full advantage of his explosiveness and athleticism.  Nor does it play into his ability to control a game using a hurry-up scheme (I know much of that resistance comes from Rivera).

This offense needs to open up and clear space for Cam to operate.  Put pressure on defenses to either protect the passing zones and leave Cam free to kill them on the ground, or protect against his ability to run, leaving receivers one on one with open passing lanes.  Cam is a unique talent, we need to start taking full advantage of that.

this offensive scheme is very bland, and does not put most guys in position to win. it is obvious that this team cannot be that power running scheme, that the OC so hardly want to be, that runs the ball 35 times a game. back to the Colts, this team ran several play action passes in a row, and each time the LBs came up respecting the run. the Colts haven't had a decent rushing attack since they traded for Richardson.

the OC must adjust his scheme to the personal on the team.

Luck just superior to Cam. get over it and appreciate how Cam has appeared to improve despite his injuries. I guess everyone on NFL Network, NFL AM, and Charley Casserly are all wrong in their praise of Luck. Those ex-players and general manager can't be nearly as intelligent and objective as members of this message board. Doubt a G.M. in the NFL would take Cam over Luck.

He's not in any way "superior" compared to Cam.

yeah....I wish they would have looked at allen hurns though. I mentioned him a few times...could have had him as a udfa too.

from Da U. i knew he had the talent, but he is in the same offense he had at Miami, so naturally he would understand the concepts. that has helped him translate his game to the NFL, and allowed him to be successful.

Can has already proven he can do what luck is doing with far less talent. We are not the Colts and we are still in a much poorer cap situation than the colts. Cam does not have the accuracy of Luck and Luck does not have the mobility of Newton but nether are bad in those respects. Both are great but different.

dorial green beckam will be the steal of the draft hes going to fall because of his off the field issues but doubt we get him because of jerry. Rashad green, Parker, motgomery and amari cooper are all first rounders if it is a best player available scenario I would love one of these w.rs across from k.b , just picture kelvin and rashad greene on the same team again !!! Keep pounding
