Are We Headed for a Fire Sale?

That doesn't change why Hardy isn't playing and McDonald is.

Yes we realize what the NC court system is.

You have to realize the nation isn't looking at it like that. That is what the NFL cares about. National perception is he already has been found guilty....it isn't hard

Yep, fully understand that.  The NFL is in full PR CYA mode and as much as JR has done for the Panthers, he's still NFL first, Carolina Panthers second.  Whatever line the NFL office is towing, the Panthers are gonna be right in line with it.

The part that bugs me is that we're going to have to spend some high draft picks to keep our defense strong, and our offense will keep ailing because of it. We will need DEs for sure, and we'll also need an LB and S and maybe a CB or two.

You have to admit that at least in the first 2 rounds, Gettleman has gotten some great talent.  BPA has worked up to now and will work going forward.  You can't really decide it will be offense or defense.  Wasn't Bemjamin part of the offense.  If we could find a LT in the first I know we would.   What we haven't been able to do is pick up enough free agents with our cap issues.  SO we rely on UDFAs  aka, he wasn't in the top 200 drafted to compete for spots and projects..  Hopefully in the near future we can get the money we need to pick up guys who can really help us in addition to the current core players who we are going to pay and keep. If we keep drafting BPA we get guys who are going to help the team whether on the offense or defense.  It shouldn't matter as long as we can bring in enough guys to fill the gaps.  Something we really haven't had the money to do so far.

Everyone realizes that as soon as Hardy filed for an appeal, that bench judge "conviction" was struck from the books, right? He has a completely new trial by jury as provided by the Constitution. From a legal perspective, that "conviction" never happened. All Hardy has against him right now is an accusation as well.

I really can't grasp why this is so difficult to understand. Hardy only has that nonexistent "conviction" against him because NC's legal system is completely back assward.

Unfortunately said logic is easier to ignore than it is to grasp, hence the multitude of posts trying to explain it and the even greater multitude of posts ignoring it.

I do like the effort though.

We sure as poo had a dumpster with the WR corp. phase 1 complete.

Any early thoughts on how the draft position wise will look next season besides BPA?

I'm thinking

Round 1 OL

Round 2 LB

Round 3 WR/KR

Round 4 DB

Round 5 OL

Round 6 RB

Round 7 DB

Round 3 will need to be OL. You can pick up a speedy WR / KR all through the draft.

If Hardy loses his appeal, he's gone... not sure whether JR wants him back even if he wins. CJ will probably be gone, unless he unleashes his own "inner Kraken"... alot of very good players hit the sophmore wall, don't see Star going anywhere... no way in hell Dave let's Cam or Luke leave.
