There have been players (mostly QBs) who have gotten their start off other peoples injuries.

Off the top of head:

Romo

Brady

Kurt Warner

Steve Young

Flacco (I think the starting QB was sick and backup QB was injured in the preseason)

Russell Wilson (similar to Flacco, Matt Flynn was hurt in preseason)

Kuechly (if Beason hadn't gotten hurt, would Beason still be our MLB?)

I know that it's less likely a non-QB player will come in and be an all star since they all get some playtime throughout the year due to rotations but it's possible that someone like Darrin Reaves could be our next 1000 yard rusher and it'd be solely due to three RBs in front of him getting hurt

    • Sure.    ignore that he said this roster wasn’t good in 2023 to 2024 but keep up the effort
    • While I don't believe its a must win, (we have been better on the road this post season) it is definitely A NEED TO WIN the longer this series goes the more pronounced the Canes advantage on rest and health will be! If we hold serve at home in games 1 and 2 guaranteeing a 6 game minimum series for them if we lose the road games..... by the game 4 and 5 I expect them to be beat they have played A LOT OF HOCKEY the last three years, they have MINIMAL rest off a more physical than one might have expected series vs the leafs.... you know Tampa took their pound of flesh in round 1 from them. Combine all that with the fact that even though this year's canes squad isn't as talented as last years this IS a better squad than the one they swept last time that had McKenzie Mckeathern on line 1 Turbo with a broken hand a banged uo and eventually concussed Slavin (and even though it was a sweep 6 OTS and 4 1 goal losses is hardly dominant)  This year Bob hasn't been superman (hes probably gonna still have a great save percentage agiast us just a side effect of our style) Thatchuk is maybe 50% (3 game winners agiast us) their defense no longer has Gudas and several other downgrades.  While the Canes have a healthy and performing Svechnikov along with other big guys to counteract florida like Carrier, Jankowski, Robinson.   I by know means think it will happen but I either see this as a low scoring dog fight or a series were the canes surprise and end up dominating.
