I'm happy for her, and managed to refrain from saying "now PLEASE be careful" like I badly wanted to.

 

Having ridden with her, she drives a little faster than I'm comfortable with sometimes.

Well my 16 year old son got his license yesterday. (With restrictions). Seems odd with him driving now. No more getting him after football practice.

I'm 32 and a few years away from expanding our family but I have to imagine this is one of the hardest moments in parenthood regardless of how responsible, mature, and sensible your child or stepchild may be.

Shooting you is the easy way out, you coward. Man up and deal with the years of torture ahead of you. A drivers license is but a stepping stone toward teenage pregnancy followed by a string of loser boyfriends, you & the wife raising her kid, moving into the basement and hoping against all hope it turns out like "Juno."

I make the joke about women drivers all the time, but to be honest I bitch about male drivers way more than female drivers.

Related Note: I am no longer grandpa to a duck.

 

Once he got to full size, the duck became too much trouble to take care of so mom and daughter (wisely) gave him to someone who owns a farm with a pond with other ducks.

 

He was actually a very friendly little critter but cleaning up after him was way too much work.

Just learned a bit of info from her mom...

 

I got the text from her telling me she'd passed her test just after she got done.  Her mom didn't actually know she'd already told me so she texted me too and was surprised to find I'd already heard.

 

What I learned today though?  Apparently she never bothered to text her biological dad.

 

Now, given that from everything I know the guy's a colossal douche who doesn't give a rip about his kids, can't say I blame her.  Still, I found it kinda surprising.
