AJ Green leaves practice on cart

On a 'football level', true competitors like the challenge beating the best. Listen to the guys making Hall of Fame speeches tell their stories and you'll hear that a lot of their favorite memories come from facing their most worthy opponents.

Beyond that though, football is a game played by real people. There's no good to be found in a guy being injured. For me to feel anything positive about something like that would require a much better reason than just that it's going to make it easier for us to win a game.

A serial killer or a rapist gets hurt? I can be okay with that. If the guy's worst sin is that he plays for an opposing football team though? Not enough.

I agree with wanting to beat the best but this is taking it way too far. I dont think anyone is basking in the sun because of aj possibly being unable to go. It aint that deep man.

No...the point is this:

We have had injuries

They have had injuries

On Sunday we will both line up the best teams that we have available

One team will win

I couldn't care less if they are at full strength or not when we win and it won't feel less awesome if Green isn't on the field. It will feel just fine to me.

The end

I get all that, and I'm not going to be sad or downplay a win just because the opponent has major injuries.  This time of year, nobody is carrying the same roster they started with, including us.

But I can't jump onboard with the thinking of "well sure I hate to see guys injured but I'm kinda glad it happened because it makes it easier for us".  That's just not right.

We'll have to disagree on this.

I don't honestly care what their fans think.

You want to say you're the best team?  Earn it by beating the best.  If you can't, then you're not.

I suppose, if you were a race car driver, you'd be just fine with finishing second so long as the guy ahead beat you fairly?

No bump and runs?

You gotta have that killer mentality.. or you know, forever second place.

I'm never a fan of that.

Injuries are part of the game but I'd rather beat a team at their best.

Yeah, because there are * beside wins and losses when players go down.  If hes down, we have a better chance at winning, and look out our injuries, we need something to finally happen for us.  A win is a win, this is a no excuse league.

Hmmm!!! If Cam, Luke.Thomas Davis or Kelvin Benjamin pulled a hamstring in practice today,i seriously doubt that you would see any Bengal fans sheding tears.

literally no one is saying that.

Quotes...

Hope his injury keeps him out this game. He then can come back next week and set the world on fire

My head feels bad for him, nagging injuries suck.

But my heart is giggling like a schoolgirl.

We have tons of injuries, let's even the playing field out, I don't mind.

BS.

Would rather have a W without facing green than a L with him in the line up. All that matters is making it to February. Beating teams in the regular season means nothing if you don't win it all. Means to an end.

Exactly. The Seahawks got their @$$ whipped by the Rams last year on MNF everywhere but the scoreboard as the Rams had a backup QB. Had they not, we would have been the #1 seed, they would have been a wild card team, and who knows how things would have shaked out. Just win baby!!!!!

I know everyone will say "well, I don't really want him injured' or something like "I hope he's only out against us", but would you respect that attitude coming from another team's fan about one of our guys?  I know I wouldn't.

At heart, it's being glad someone is hurt.  The rest is rationalization.  I can't get behind that.

That sucks I'm pulling for him to be ready for our game. Don't like seeing any guys go down and would rather play them at full strength.

i would rather play them at full strength when we can play them at full strength...which we aren't.

also, teams have cliver the years taken advantage of our loss of key players due to injury and not thought twice about the win that may have come for them in part because of that. all that matters is the win regardless of of who is or isn't on the field. anything that helps us get that win i'm not going to be upset about.
