AJ Green leaves practice on cart

BS.

Would rather have a W without facing green than a L with him in the line up. All that matters is making it to February. Beating teams in the regular season means nothing if you don't win it all. Means to an end.

Exactly. The Seahawks got their @$$ whipped by the Rams last year on MNF everywhere but the scoreboard as the Rams had a backup QB. Had they not, we would have been the #1 seed, they would have been a wild card team, and who knows how things would have shaked out. Just win baby!!!!!

I bet Green will play.  While he's their most dangerous WR and it benefits us for him to sit, I get the feeling that the focus and intensity of our secondary could falter if they became comfortable with the idea that AJ Green won't play.  That's not what this defense needs.

I don't honestly care what their fans think.

You want to say you're the best team? Earn it by beating the best. If you can't, then you're not.

I will take the ever important w that gets us into the playoffs, where proving you're the best matters, than having some machismo attitude regarding playing a team at full strength.

Well don't take it out of context. You said you wanted to beat their best team. I said I don't care who's on the field I just want to win. No need to take it to the "more important things than football" level. This is about football only.

On a 'football level', true competitors like the challenge beating the best.  Listen to the guys making Hall of Fame speeches tell their stories and you'll hear that a lot of their favorite memories come from facing their most worthy opponents.

Beyond that though, football is a game played by real people.  There's no good to be found in a guy being injured.  For me to feel anything positive about something like that would require a much better reason than just that it's going to make it easier for us to win a game.

A serial killer or a rapist gets hurt?  I can be okay with that.  If the guy's worst sin is that he plays for an opposing football team though?  Not enough.

Taking pleasure in someone's injuries is an attitude worthy of a Saints fan.

No...the point is this:

We have had injuries

They have had injuries

On Sunday we will both line up the best teams that we have available

One team will win

I couldn't care less if they are at full strength or not when we win and it won't feel less awesome if Green isn't on the field. It will feel just fine to me.

The end

This.

It isn't about some moral compass or social dilemma. It's as simple as a) injuries happen in football. it's a part of the game. B) I would never wish an injury on anyone. If b com incised with a, though, then it happens, and we're going to play the team they field. Hopefully it's to our advantage, but only on the field.
