He might be 6'8 but, people forget he is barely 300 pounds while Bell is near 350.

It reminds me of 3 years ago when we started the season with just 3 DT's on the roster. We had Fua, McClain and Nesbitt and that's it. I remember ranting on here about how irresponsible it was for Hurney to start the year with just 3, but before week 2 we picked up Dwan Edwards. 

 

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a Dwan Edwards equivalent OT out there waiting for a call. Gettleman has done many good things, but his handling of the tackle situation has not been stellar.

Turf toe is a perfect excuse for Bell underperforming all year. Gives him a free pass to compete to start next year. FML
