Chemistry

And by that I mean team chemistry, not the kind I took in high school.

 

In an average season, the true chemistry of a team doesn't really start to take hold until somewhere from four to seven weeks in.  Rookies and guys in new positions are finally starting to figure out what they're doing.  Their teammates are finally starting to understand the new kids and how they play.  The quarterback and his new receivers are starting to connect on a deeper level, etc etc and so it goes.

 

Basically, this is the time of the season when you can finally at least start to get a handle on how good your team really is.

So with that in mind, tell me what you expect to see in the weeks to come.

 

What aspects of our game do you see improving?  What things do you think stay the same or get worse?

 

Are you expecting the team from the first half of the Bears game again, or the one from the second?

Never blew anything up.  The lye soap I made did eat the metal dish I left it in, though.

O line also has to develop chemistry and we have a very young, and inexperienced o-line. if they continue to get better, look out for our offense

I said before the season if we could get through the first quarter 2-2 we would make the playoffs.

 

OL has there moments but all in all I think they are getting better as a unit.  We had some running lanes yesterday and not too many SNAFUs in pass protection.   The are build that chemistry.  They will keep getting better.

 

If the defense maintains their mojo from the first two games and the last half against the bears.  I say we go 8-4 down the stretch (one already in the books) and we win the NFC South 10-6.

The one prolific thing I saw in the offseason that gave me hope was some guys working out together. Particularly Thomas Davis (super athletic elder statersman line backer) and KK Short (2nd year behemoth defensive tackle). They were running stairs at the stadium.

Can't explain it but the mismatch there is crazy but yet they were together.

Might be nothing but I think it contributes to the chemistry.

I think our defense gets rolling on all cylinders again and starts playing 4 quarters of dominant ball.

 

ESPECIALLY if GH comes back.  He will come back very angry.  You don't want to see the Kraken angry...

 

And yes, I know he's getting paid to sit around.  Football players don't like the franchise tag in the first place.  He WILL be angry because every game he misses are missed opportunities to get those sack numbers up so he can land a mega-contract.

I see the passing game getting much better now that Cam has had time to get to know his receivers. Even with an averge line Cam will still shine.

 

I see the running game struggling unless the mollies pull things together. Hopefully it's just a matter of guys getting comfortable.

 

I see our defense returning to top 5 form... no way those guys are going to keep playing like they did in the 2 losses

 

Not sure about special teams.. opposing gunners are getting free and getting to our returners, gotta fix that. Our kicker/punter are solid.
