Trade for Morgan Moses?

i just really trust DG's eye for talent. The man has been doing it for years and years. I trust that more than people sitting here saying OH WE SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED SUCH AND SUCH!!!! I had my own personal thoughts. I wanted Hurst by round 4. He went undrafted.

it's ridiculous. the man is a pros pro when it comes to this. yes it would have been nice to draft a prospect like henderson in the 6th or 7th but the draft is such a crapshoot at that point. If DG thinks that such and such prospect has a better chance of making the roster and contributing over such and such prospect, i believe him more than anybody posting on this message board.

that said we need an influx of talent on the o-line because it is our weakest position group. Lets see what happens.

i don't trust him, but it's because IMO he does things backwards and his plan for the team is a big ?, along with very high risk gambles, mainly the gambles.

i just look at it from a simple point of view, we were very weak at ot and stacked at rb........but yet we drafted another rb

thats just one of the many examples, you're pretty high on dg i can respect that but i'm not he hasn't show me enough to do so.

I agree.

Which is why when DG had the chance (Star, KK... potentially Ealy) he jumped on'em.

I think we're all slowly coming to the realization that Dave Gettlemen knows what he's doing after all and that the future of this team is in good hands. DG has repeatedly said you can't take a year-to-year approach to building a winning team, which is in stark contrast to how Hurney's philosphy, and these DE acquistions prove that. Expect an emphasis on upgrading the OL, particularly OT this offseason. And, as someone stated earlier, with Cam's mega-contract looming, getting cheap, young talent @ OT in the draft will our cap big-time.

All of your guesses have no consequences and you're not thinking about anything further than the next game. Next year, when CJ and/or Hardy are gone would you rather have Addison and a rookie or Addison and Kony Ealy, the first round talent that fell, then had a year to learn and gain strength. If Gaffney hadn't gotten injured, he might have been the guy to replace Deangelo next year. Boston could be our answer at S next year and Bene is already paying dividends. Would you feel better having drafted 7 OT busts?

all rookie OL asked to play a significant amount of snaps look bad. they make a poo ton of mistakes, they play like they are on roller skates, and they get a lot of penalties for holding and false starts. and thats true with even most first round picks. all but a few of the most elite are like that.

you know why? I'll give you a hint, it's not because they are busts.

it's because it is a hard role to grasp and takes a couple years to learn how to keep from getting abused and getting their QB killed.

anyone expecting a rookie OT or OG to not look bad and make mistakes like that is going to be in for a huge letdown. it's going to happen because they are going up against guys who have been playing on the other side for years who have learned how to use head fakes and various maneuvers to get through as well as DCs who scheme all kinds of stunts and dulifferent looks and there's a lot to get used to seeing on the field so that you can know how to anticipate what the D is doing.

now moses might be bad, but it also could be that he's just a rookie who got caught making a fairly typical rookie mistake and ended up getting his QB abused. it happens to even the best of them.

Outside of trading our entire draft and next years 1st to move up for Jake Matthews we didn't really have any options at OT in the draft. Gettleman said the OTs available were worse than who we had on the roster and it looks so far like he's right. It's amazing how many people are advocating passing on infinitely superior prospects to reach for need.

On a side note, Ozzie Newsome (a guy many believe is the best GM in the NFL) echoed these same thoughts, saying that after the top OTs came off the board, there was no value at OT the rest of the draft. The Ravens needed a RT after letting Oher walk in free agency, yet with 9 draft picks didn't draft a single one.

how is your counter argument you're own personal guesses???? And please quote where I said draft 7 ot and you're convince there wasn't a ot in the draft to compete with bell or chandler
