Don't hold your breath for more no huddle offense...

Don't put too much stock in to DN and his articles.

Shula has run the no huddle throughout his play calling career. The Bucs did it on a good number of occasions. You don't become a NFL OC without knowing how to run a hurry up no huddle offense.

Basically, DN does a good interview, but football knowledge is not his strong suit. Proceed with caution.

well according to RR's interview yesterday he has interest in it so that's greater than espn... didn't espn trash us the entire month of september and even stated our organization is a problem spot to some degree with a reference to Rae Carruth?

This is what I am interested in for sure.  If a defensive minded HC can see something succeeding on offensive and invest in it, then things can change.  We need to go up-tempo for Cam, the o-line, and the defense.  This helps keep the o-line in charge of what the d-line is doing, and we have flat out scored more points this way.  That ball control offense that always snaps the ball with 1 second on the clock gives the D to much time to adjust.  When you don't have superior o-line talent, that is never a good thing.

Like I said after the last two losses, pre-snap was Cam's main problem. When you switch to the no huddle, you eliminate those issues that he had with dragging/lagging and sucking the energy out of his teammates which causes the line to block worse and the receivers and running backs to come out of the gate slower.

Cam's state of mind changes completely when he's in the no huddle. He is forced to approach the next play with the same energy that he should even when they aren't in no huddle. This is something he needs to learn. Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and even Derrick Anderson are crisp, no wasted time, business-like, but highly energetic out of the huddle. Cam "swags" out of it, and he ends up moving too slow until the team loses energy.

No huddle energizes him, which energizes the whole play.

Once he learns how to transfer the same mindset to when they aren't in no huddle, he'll be one of the top 5 QBs in the league. Both ESPN articles about no huddle simply support what I was telling you all about how Cam affects the rest of the team "before the snap"

SPEED UP, INCREASE YOUR ENERGY.

No huddle requires him to, but he should always be that focused and sharp. IT'S. ALL. ABOUT. THE. QB'S. MINDSET before the ball is snapped.

Ok....hehe ... Ok.. what you are saying is that Cam moving slow out the huddle ....makes the team move slower...and uhhh.. his Swag is causing the drops and fumbles and bad blocking...

Ahhhh... I mean.. wow...

Forum rules prevent me from responding properly.  However I will say that I disagree vehemently that Cam's swag is effecting the offense.

If you were to say total team concentration goes up due to less time to think... ok I can see that.

More base defenses, tired defense, lets substitutions, unable to dial up more situational defenses because of the no huddle... I could go with all that.

But Swag out of the huddle!!!!!!!  Really!!!!

Cam often lags going into the next play because he just got hammered the play prior. Have a 290lb. defensive end hit you on your blindside and see how quick you are to get up and run to the line for the next play.

Nope. Even when he hasn't been "hit" it's still a problem. Been one for years. You can say, "well look at his stats." I can say, they'd be even better if he set the right tone before each play. Again, no huddle forces him too, but he should have that same energy and focus coming out of a huddle. Get it, and watch the difference.

Of course people like you still won't realize that I was right if he ever does it.

It's been an issue for years. He allows the energy from previous plays to dissipate when they aren't in no huddle. It permeates through the entire squad, and it affects the outcome of plays because the energy level of the offensive unit decreases.

No huddle is the only thing stupid people can understand. Luckily, I'm not one of you.

Buddy Love: "You got to strut."

No, you need to SPEED UP.

Nowhere in that article does it talk about how much they plan to use it going forward.

Did this come to you in a dream? Maybe while sleeping with pyramids to either side of you?

Our version of the no huddle isn't necessarily faster. We still often snap the ball at the last second. All it does is it keeps the defense from substituting, and it gives Cam more time to survey the defense before the snap.

But feel free to continue on with the "bad energy" angle.

    • Good news is we are 14-5-0 when Chris cries about King Kucci!
    • I mean, we are conditioned now to accept a little higher level of subpar play (subpar for a legit NFL starter)  as improvement and proof that he is a real NFL QB.  When I remember the first game he played I was baffled, totally, at the lack of downfield action, that I blamed it on Reich protecting him. I was basically grasping for any straw to explain it. His first game. There was no Reich protecting him like I thought, Reich simply knew Young could not have success throwing downfield. His stupid slow footwork and weak arm is why, It wasn't to keep him safe.  How many now, 23 times? That has not changed. We are just conditioned to expect less, because we have been watching SO much less than 'NFL good' play from him. Now, watching him try to play NFL ball is no longer a foreign and weird experience, because we have seen it 23 times. Conditioned. So you get into relativism or a grading curve or something. Time to wake the fug up and drop these low expectations being his bar for good.
    • I'm 2-1 this season and have yet to turn off a game this season. Kinda creepy you're keeping tabs on me like this, dude.
