Mike Davis (SC) in the second round?

I think we should draft an OT in the first round, do you think we should draft Davis from South Carolina if he's available in the 2nd round? This kid is really an electric and power running back, I watched his game from his rookie year and he just keeps impressing me.

Won't mind to root for him on Sunday.

I like him too but I think that he will be gone before we pick. Also I think gettleman will probably draft late round RBs and early round lineman so we don't end up with another situation like we have now with lots of injured RBs and a terrible o-line

If we keep losing, our pick will be high enough to draft Gurley...

Considering we have 2 running backs under a pretty big contract for the next two years and a we have Tolbert I would say no to a Rb in the early rounds. I guess you could say what's the purpose of drafting a Rb if you don't have a line to block for him.

Another reason why I would be against drafting a Rb in the first two rounds is because you can always find a decent running back in later rounds and even UDFA.

I've been studying the cap implications of cutting our r b ' s for awhile now. If Williams continues to play mediocre we could cut him this off season as a June 1st cut and save a bit of money. It would be minimal, but would allow for a clean break from one of the contracts, free up a roster spot for a younger back (we might have been prepping for that with the rb we drafted this year) and gain a small amount of cap we otherwise wouldn't have had.
