What can be worse than pretty young teacher having intercorse with young student?

Unless you believe 16 year old girls aren't sexual unless taken advantage of, (which is a really dumb thing to believe) it's a double standard. Not saying there aren't literal rape cases in schools, but I have more of a problem with male teachers having sex with female students from a student-teacher relationship perspective than I do from a consenting perspective. Same thing with female teachers and male students.

We had a young teacher at my high school that def slept with students. Like I am talking it was a well known, publicized fact.

She was young and hot. She taught English and seriously every HS senior guy requested to get in her class.

This was over 15 years ago though, so that kind of thing could slip under the radar back then.

I do feel like there is something seriously wrong with people who do that. As a guy in my 30'z and hell even when I was in my 20's I did not find HS chicks attractive....now a 20 yr old is a different story!

An adult having sex with a child is NEVER OK....it is a disgusting act.

 

Now....the law sometimes is not so black and white.  If an 18 yo and a 16 yo are dating, it is statutory rape.  But, I do not see any issue with that scenario.

 

But, a 25+ yo adult having sex with a 16 yo or less (no matter the gender) is inexcusable.

 

Maybe my view is so strong because I have a 14 yo daughter and a 16 yo son (well he just turned 17 today).

 

So a 16 year old can make a mature decision to have sex with an 18 year old, but not with someone in their 20s. Does that make any sense to you?

 

It's really fuging dumb to have differing ages of consent for different states anyway. Is a 16 year old in NC (where the age of consent is 16) more mature and able to consent where a 16 year old in Louisiana can't?

Besides the whole age thing, teachers have a  relationship that they shouldn't take advantage of. It's a professionalism thing if nothing else. We are entrusted with people's children, and I don't care if that child is 18 and mature, if he/she is a student, they are off limits to their teacher. Period.

In some countries, 15 is already of consenting age. At this rate, America might change those laws within the next decade. Especially with all these hormones accelerating their development. My niece is 6 and she already is an expert with technology, can compete with 10-12 year olds in gymnastics and speak three languages.

Then go move to those countries and have at it. Here is is illegal and quite frankly wrong.

Personally, I don't think 16 yo's are really mature enough to make good decisions...especially about sex. Most still live in the "nothing bad can happen to me" fantasy world.

My point was that a 16 yo and a 18 yo are very close in age and dating makes sense. A 25+ yo adult and a 16 yo kid us not...it is an adult engaging in inappropriate and predatory behavior.

I don't agree with the 16 and 18 yo having sex....too young, unwanted pregnancies, etc. (but that is just my personal opinion). I just do not see it as a statutory rape scenario like the adult/child relationship is.
