What can be worse than pretty young teacher having intercorse with young student?

From a legal perspective in this case, it is pretty much black and white.  The age of consent in Louisiana is 17, and a 34 year old woman having sex with a 16 year old boy is statutory rape, and whether he is willing or not is irrelevant.

Yeah, that was an inside joke with me and MCP...

It is, and you're right, with the legal system it is absolutely black and white, and there's really no way for it to be otherwise.

It is a double standard, but I'm not sure that it's not ok.

I mean, how many of us at 16 wouldn't have banged the hot teacher given the chance?  Not many I'd say.

The idea is that an adult male can easily overpower, and also often coerce a young female into an unwanted relationship...

Not really so true when you're talking about an adult female with a young male... obviously if there is coercion involved then all bets are off, but if it's just a straight up they want to fug kind of thing...  meh.

idk, I'm on the fence... obviously it shouldn't be encouraged, but it's really not the same when it's an adult female and a young male imo.

It should work both ways, for males and females. How does one justify the assumption that female students involved in these types of situations are helpless victims of predatory teachers, but the male students are just taking advantage of an awesome opportunity? Did you not know any teenage girls in high school that flirted with or even pursued coaches or teachers? I sure did.

Young women can make their own bad choices too, they don't always have to be the victim of a man's choice.

I'm not making any assumptions at all... each and every case should be looked at independently...

...and as I said, as far as the law is concerned, it's utterly black and white.  If you're under the age of consent then an adult shouldn't be having sex with you... I'm not saying otherwise.

What I'm referring to more is the perception of these situations.  It's very easy to feel differently about a young female having sex with an adult male, than about a young male having sex with an adult female.

Right. I agree, but I also think that it's wrong. Didn't intend to call you out or anything. You aren't expressing some crazy views, your post was just the last one I read with that sentiment before responding to it.

I think this perception that women are incapable of making their own choices is what feeds this stupid double standard. Case in point, the view that 'every teenage boy wants to bang his hot teacher,' but if a girl does it, it's because she was coerced or forced to by a predatory teacher.

I knew quite a few of these women.  Also knew of some female teachers that were getting slammed by male students.

Apprently this guy thought it would "go away" awhen he moved his ass to Winston Salem, NC to start a new life.  Fortunately for everyone, the kid finally decided to press charges and this asshole pled guilty.  I knew this son of a bitch too, he tried to kick me out of youth group for smoking cigarettes on a youth trip to the beach.

If that was the impression I made with my post then clearly I didn't write it very well... as that's not what I meant at all.

Girls/women are clearly just as able to make their own choices just as men/boys are...  society often doesn't see it that way however.  There's also the perception, which is based on reality, that a man can much more easily (esp physically) put a woman in a situation that she does not want to be in.  Also, most men want to protect women, whether they need protecting or not...

Oh, does it? What does it tell you?

If you think that it is OK for an adult to have a sexual relationship with a child (regardless of the gender of the adult and the gender of the child), then it tells me that you have VERY low moral standards.

I said it's wrong for a teacher to have sex with a student. The teacher is a freak and a total loser for wanting to have sex with a 16 year old boy, but let's not act like its a really disgusting act.

I never interact with you on here, but I've read your posts and they are always so black and white and you think your views are always absolutely correct.

You leave no room for any mature conversation and it's really a buzzkill.

This one is very black and white with me.

An adult having sex with a child is NEVER OK....it is a disgusting act.

Now....the law sometimes is not so black and white.  If an 18 yo and a 16 yo are dating, it is statutory rape.  But, I do not see any issue with that scenario.

But, a 25+ yo adult having sex with a 16 yo or less (no matter the gender) is inexcusable.

Maybe my view is so strong because I have a 14 yo daughter and a 16 yo son (well he just turned 17 today).
