First Down Brenton Bersin

This team has so many players who are happy with their role.  They just contribute and are competent enough to succeed when their number is called.  This is how you build a winning brand.

Brenton Bersin is the feel good story of the year. A guy out of Wofford College that grew up in Charlotte as a Panthers fan is now making a real difference for the team on the field. Quite a few folks here have Stephen Hill replacing Bersin on the regular roster, but I don't see it happening. All Bersin does is exactly what he is expected to do, namely make a catch when called upon.

I asked Brenton about his role on the team.

"I only go in when Cotch, Avant, or Kelvin get a breather" Bersin replied. "So I gotta be ready to go no matter what."

Bersin now has 4 completions in the NFL, 3 of which were for first downs. "I try to get a first down after every catch" he remarked.

One thing I noticed was how well Bersin wraps up the ball after the catch.

"I go in there for maybe one or two plays a game, I can't fumble."

Bersin gets it.

Brenton is the ideal role player at WR for this team. He understands what he can do, and just as importantly what he must never do.

Serious question. Do all sideline photographers have locker room access or is it like a separate press credential you need to apply for or what? Have you always had this or did you just get it this year? Seems like you are getting more and more access to players and I was just curious as to how that works?

Why not play him more???  I mean the guy makes a good play and then you never see him back on the field.  Whats uo with that?

Only four catches and no drops? Patriots offer to trade him for $13 million a year, four years guaranteed, but we have to take LaFell back

I think the team is hesitant to trot out too many

"Rookies" on a single play. Cam needs a few veterans in there to help conduct the offense.

Think about a formation with Philly, Bersin, and Benji. Then you have a running back that just got here behind Cam...The coaches are being cautious.

Will he be ready when we move on from avant and cotchery?

This would be a good scenario, but I'd still like to see more snaps for him this year.
