The Ravens lost, good

Smitty gets plugged up and the passing game shuts down because everybody's used to him getting fed and not them

It's just like I said would happen.

That is complete nonsense. Steve Smith was the fourth-leading receiver today (Owen Daniels, Torrey Smith, and Jacoby Jones all had more catches), and specifically told the media to blame him for the loss. Torrey Smith had a chance to keep the final drive going but dropped it - which, incidentally, is the reason Steve Smith, not Torrey Smith, is getting the brunt of the targets. Steve Smith is more reliable than either Torrey Smith or Jacoby Jones. How is that a bad thing?

And their whole forum now is complaining that they need a number two receiver. (even though there is a guy who had over 1000 yards last year that is far off that pace at this point). Where have I heard that before?

Have you watched any of the Ravens other games this year? Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones have looked like trash and their best tight end, Dennis Pitta, is injured. The only receivers they have that are looking decent are Smith and Owen Daniels.

Joe flacco sacked four times, will this end the crying about how we should have drafted James hurst?

no, why would it unless you want to apply this same standard to all rookies who have a bad game?

weather is not climate change if it were we would have to say the same thing about KB's performance, about Cooks etc...

Did you miss the last 10 years' worth of Panthers games?

Smith joins the Ravens and the near 1200 yard receiver they already had suddenly forgets how to play football

Lol okay

So it's OK to go overboard with praise for his one good start and scream to the heavens that you know more than Dave Gettleman for not drafting him....but not to bring up a game where he played badly against a below average pass rush. There's a 7 page thread discussing KB's bad performance in the main forum by the way.

Torrey Smith is the only receiver in football that drops passes I suppose

No. I'm amazed you've forgotten about how Smith would play very well with Mushin Muhammad during the four years they played together. But that doesn't count because he's the only #2 we ever had that was worth a sh*t, huh?

Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith are both having bad seasons. Could it be due to Steve Smith? Perhaps. But the facts are Jacoby Jones only had 4 catches on 11 targets, and Torrey Smith only has 11 catches on 30 targets. In comparison, Owen Daniels has 19 catches on 25 targets, and Steve Smith has 30 catches on 48 targets (Dennis Pitta had 16 catches on 21 targets). If you're Joe Flacco, who do you throw to? He's throwing it to players who are catching the ball consistently, not players who can't seem to catch it.

That's not a problem Joe Flacco needs to figure out, that's a problem for the WR coach and the offensive coordinator. Torrey's still a relatively young player. If he's having concentration issues suddenly, then that's a problem that the coaches are going to have to address, because Smitty sure as hell isn't going to make an effort to help him.

Moose had 3 1000+ yard seasons and none of them were with Smith. Name me a legit #2 receiver whose game was elevated with Smith on the field

I am not discussing KB's bad performance because one game doesn't really mean anything except to show how fickle the fan base is. The same applies to Hurst, Cooks or any other rookie right now 5 games in. good games show their potential and what they have in them.

That's bull. Joe Flacco is targeting people he thinks are going to catch it. Steve Smith happens to be one of them. And FTR< Steve Smith is mentoring the receivers. But what do facts matter? (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/sep/3/steve-smith-fills-needed-role-for-ravens-as-fiery-/?page=all)(http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2014/08/steve-smith-likes-the-ravens-for-bully-mentality.html)

Name me a legit #2 receiver whose game was elevated by Calvin Johnson being on the field.

Muhsin Muhammad's 1,000 yard seasons all came when he was the #1 target, yes, and we never got to see the prime combination of the two because Steve got injured in 2004, but with the two combined Moose averaged around 59 catches, 791 yards, and 3 TDs each season - very good for a #2 option in a run-heavy scheme. In seasons without Smith, he averaged 63 catches, 827 yards, and 5 TDs. That's not a huge drop-off when you consider the schemes he was used in early in his career, and his 2004 season that was an anomaly.

Exactly my point. The fanbase sounds pretty fickle if we are wanting to fire the GM because he didn't draft a rookie UDFA that is a backup who played one good game..

Yea dude hate to break it to you but that article has fluff written all over it and I don't even believe panthers fluff. Even if that article's true, you'd have to ignore all the WRs that came in and out of Carolina like a turnstile no better than they were before to believe that it's just what he does. What about the words that came out of his mouth about playing for a HOF nomination last year? Or the list of teammates he punched/berated over the years? Sorry, there's just way too much evidence against the contrary. The tribe has spoken and yet you continue to plead the case as if it's still a live debate. Smith has always been a great player but a shitty teammate.

Golden Tate's looking really good this year with CJ on the field
