Now an appellate court or supreme court can remand a superior court's decision.

District courts have no power over a defendant. They cannot even touch the defendant with any action outside of contempt unless the defendant agrees to the district court judgement with their John Hancock.

You're right. I was getting some stuff mixed up with district and superior. All my felonies went straight to superior. While various other charges never went past district but they've all been a while ago so I guess my memory was a little rusty. I am no attorney after all and just speak from a general working knowledge of proceedings. I guess I should have looked it up before saying someone else was wrong.

Oh well. I can't always be right.

Well that would be a stupid argument, if it's the case.  The Ravens didn't have to cut Ray Rice.  They chose to.  There was also indisputable evidence of his guilt.  Hardy and Peterson are still innocent until proven guilty.  The situations aren't comparable.

 

 

 

I bet once that tape came out, Roger Goddell called the Ravens and said that they had to cut Ray Rice, because minutes later the league came out and said that he was suspended indefinately. I have a good friend in the NFL. You'd be surprised at how shady the NFL execs can be.
