Come Sunday

We will see how this 2014 team deals with adversity. The 2013 squad started off 0-2 as we already know, then went on a tear. It appears that we have started this season off in the opposite way. Our defense appears to be defeated. Ron seems to believe that the players on our D are trying to do too much, almost in an attempt to make up for key players either not being there or not playing to their potential. He seems t think that they just need to be in their spots doing their jobs, and everything will be ok. <------ As a fan, it's hard to believe this to be true, but at the same time, he's the Defensive guru and knows more than anybody else would about the game. I want to believe him, but from the outside looking in It appears to be a bigger issue than what he's letting on. We have the scariest offense that we've faced all year coming to town!

The thought of Marshall/Jeffries/Bennett is a scary ass thought with our secondary issues right now. The only thought scarier than that, said it were not enough, is the thought that Matt Forte will be lining up In the backfield. This has potential to be the worst loss of the season up to this point. On the flip side, I think that Sunday could be a potential turning point on our season. If we can stop this offense, and come out with a win, then we can take comfort in knowing that we can stop anybody. It's far too early to say this is a "must win", but this would undoubtedly give our defense something to hang their hats on, and restore some confidence. I don't know about you guys, but I was really thinking the Pittsburgh game was an isolated incident. As I watched the Baltimore game, I got that all too familiar horrible feeling in my stomach. The one where while you watch the game, you're sick to your stomach to the point that you begin to laugh because you'd rather laugh in frustration than cry in despair.

This Sunday is very important and imo determines our direction for the rest of the year. If Chicago has their way with our D, I fear that we're in big trouble. Right now we need to stop the bleeding. This is a big test for our D, and in essence the identity of our team. Here's to hoping that we just had 2 horrid games and can tighten it up.

Our offense will have to produce come Sunday. It's time to let Cam let it fly! We have no RBs, and continuing to attempt an equal balance of run/pass ratio would be asinine at this point. Shula is going to have to dial up some trick plays or somin. Let's hope he watched some film from when Chud was still here. Cam's nagging injuries aren't helping our plight, but Chicago's D doesn't necesarily scare me at this point. Of course that could change rather quickly come Sunday if our line can't block.

So, come Sunday we will find out what this team is made of. Embarassed in back to back weeks on both sides of the ball! We will see what this coaching staff and these players are all about. I, and I know you guys feel the same way, hope that they punch the Bears right in the mouth! After being so excited, and tasting greatness, I want to feel it again. Man, I hope that we get our poo straight come Sunday.
