if steve smith didn't want to be away from his family. he could have you know retired.

i guess that's steve smith being selfish with his millions and his 4 kids and wife. smitty is looking for pity from people like you.

yes i'm going to pity a man that already has MILLLIONS, knows how to invest his money properly, for being away from his family when he could be retired at the age of 35.

Haters gonna hate. Yes, I'm talking to you.

Sure, we'd all like to be in his shoes financially, but don't sit here and play dumb. He's obviously still very hurt by getting cut. He's acting out, while not the most mature way of showing it, he's hurting.

Let me go ahead and debunk your sure rebuttal. "You're a grown ass man, and don't have any feelings" right?

because he makes millions though, we shouldn't feel bad for him? How about this. Don't tell me how to feel.

We will see, but right now Gettleman looks like a fool.

I don't think he looks like a fool. He looks like a guy that is being forced to make hard decisions because Marty Hurney acted like a college freshman with dad's AmEx card. I'm glad we have a guy that can remove emotion from decision making. Emotional decisions can lead to negative consequences in business. Dave is approaching this like a business, which it is. Steve had a good game, we all knew he would. But I'll sacrifice one game against Smitty for what should be a plan that will lead to longterm success for our Panthers.

Nope never been top 5 at anything but what I have done is spend 27 months in Iraq and Afghanistan and missed birthdays and anniversaries so really. Stop fuging whining.

So did my father, missed my graduation. But in the military you knew that going in. Completely different from being under contract with a team that you've carried on your shoulders for the last decade. And then they conspire behind your back to get rid of you.

this is the whole point, and smitty's problem the entire 13 years he was apart of this organization.

we all overlooked it but deep down everybody knew. He's not a mature man. I would have feelings but the mature, professional way to handle it would be to stfu to the media and have those thoughts voiced behind closed doors.

Some of you...It's obvious this fan base is young as hell. Love Smitty. He was answering questions. He still lives in Charlotte. A ton of Panther fans love the guy and fully recognize what he meant to this organization. LMAO@ The emotional ass males in this fanbase.

It's the selfie generation. What can you do?

I'll sacrifice 2014 KB + Smitty for 2015 and beyond KB + the next young stud WR we draft.

To the people trying to compare Steve to their lives and work etc. Just think for a second, have you ever been the top 5 (at any time in your career) at what you do?

uh you know who originally brought up the "oh yeah well what if it was you?" argument right?

so the trajectory has gone

1.  try to make the situation personally relatable

2.  withdraw the scenario when people actually do personally relate to it and point out inconvenient facts

3.  try to argue now that the situation is nothing like your life and you shouldn't try to relate to it because you don't get it

seems massively self contradictory to me
