Steve Smith Is ON WFNZ Having A Confessional, Won't Let the Story End

I'd am not reading all if this thread, but do you think maybe it's two fold?

Let the Panthers grow into the young team they are looking to be in a couple years... AND let Smitty get the chance to get what he deserves, with a team what can plug him in and maybe get a ring?!

I am not saying the Ravens are Super Bowl champions, but at this moment in time, even with Smitty here, the Panthers wouldn't be in the same position they are now.

IF Smitty get his ring, wouldn't that (by all the talk that's gone on over his career here) get him his Hall Of Fame spot?

Think about it. He deserves that shot, right?

Oh well... Moving on...

Interview will be up at some point, which is good because this write up is bad.

It's a few pages back and it really is a good listen. A lot of people are taking what he's saying out of context to make him sound emotional when really he comes across as pretty genuine IMO.

And he's just responding to reports that he wanted to be released from the panthers that came out this week, so it's not him that is perpetuating the story. It's the media. I would respond too if I didn't agree with what someone said about me publicly, don't get the hate there.

I don't really understand the mentality of he's not a panther so fug him. I'm sure there's blame on both sides, but if that interview is more truth than naught then the bulk of it is on DG.

Don't get the DG wins by default mentality just cause he's part of the Panthers currently. But that's just me.

I think this is one of those divorces that will be better for both parties in the long run.

Sadly, I think some on here define "the long run" as four games, so...

"when you think you've done enough, you haven't. because that's what I do everyday."

this short quote perfectly summarizes football version of Steve Smith. His passion and fire is what makes him great, but he never forgets to tell other people that they haven't done enough or why they will never work as hard as him.

Honestly if the panthers can't win this year, the next best thing I would like to see is Smith get his ring. But I don't know if it is worth it watching the ensuing riot that will take place here.

Maybe Smith's career as a productive player wasn't over, but his career as a productive Panther player was, or at least it seemed to be. He looks much more motivated on the field right now. The only time I felt he played as hard as he is this year in 2013 was against Janoris Jenkins and Aqib Talib.
