Ace Boogies on something else.

 

Smith didn't complain about Rivera getting rid of him. That he left to GMan.

 

He complained about Rivera allegedly not talking to him during his departure saga (whether he was released or asked for it first), until after the game Sunday.

 

That's what I said.

 

 

 

Yeah ....Steve said although Ron is supposed to be such a players coach he said absolutely nothing to him throughout the process and chose to hide in his office instead.  

 

Pretty strong statement there.

Not going to drag that into the discussion because it was a totally different situation. 

 

Steve Smith started here and was the heart and soul of this organization. When the media was making up all these false stories (lol) that he might be cut this place was 100% behind him and the media was the Devil.

 

Oh wait, the media was right????!!!  90% of the people then were on team "Burn in Hell Gettleman and Riveria!" The normal 10% of rational people were on team "Nothing we can do about it, lets move on." 

 

Now there are shots fired at Gettleman and Rivera and the majority of the people want to Steve Smith to burn in Hell yet he is speaking his mind as he has his entire life.

 

Then you have the group the says " I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT STEVE SMITH", yet they are usually  the first people to open and post in a Steve Smith thread and continue it for 47 pages.  

 

Yeah the whole fanatic thing comes into play here for sure but the pendulum sure has swung for all but the 10% rational people. 

 

Pretty sure it's not Steve Steve who is Bi-polar, it's actually the Huddle.

I'd probably go higher, though I grant there are days I might argue it's even lower (especially gameday right after a loss).

 

Sports fans are a lot like parents.  Other people's kids are obnoxious and undisciplined.  Yours are just 'rambunctious'.

 

Many folks said a long time ago that if Steve Smith played for anyone else, he'd be reviled here.  Honestly, that probably applies to a lot of players.  Both Mike Mitchell and Roman Harper were hated before they signed on.  If you go back further the same was true of William Floyd.

 

It goes with the territory.

Just for the record. Steve never knocked Jake for being emotional.  He was stating it as a difference between the different QB's he'd play for.  Said Flaco never show any emotion, good or bad and that was different from Jake who was very fiery.  It wasn't a slight.

Agreed. he said it more than once, unfortunately.

 

I understand what he's saying, if true. But Rivera is a young coach, who probably had a decision made for him, thus didn't know how to address it.

 

Maybe he hoped, the team could work it out, not knowing (if Rappaport is correct), Smith asked for a release.

I mean Steve knocked Jake for being emotional. That alone should tell you how full of crap Steve is. But he can't handle anyone else saying he's the same way? C'mon.

 

yeah i laughed out loud at that

 

it takes either a complete lack of awareness or balls of titanium for someone like steve smith to say that.  not to mention that he's ripping a guy who got him the ball at all costs and was his quarterback for the brightest moments in his career.

 

also all of you pissing on gettleman for being oh so "selfish" and "arrogant" with how he handled the situation should take note here-the reason steve's reaction was so extreme was because he finally got a taste of his own medicine when he was released.  steve smith is about steve smith first and foremost.
