Steve Smith Is ON WFNZ Having A Confessional, Won't Let the Story End

This is America man, freedom of speech. As long as people can run in the White House untouched, and the government can bring Ebola into America, certainly I can express my distaste for one man.

You can express whatever you want.

You can also get banned if those expressions are outside the guidelines the owner of a private message board sets for his site.

Free speech means that you can say whatever you like, but it doesn't mean anyone is required to listen.  And it most certainly doesn't mean anyone has to give you a forum on which to express your opinions.

Zod can delete whomever he wants.  No one's free speech rights will be hurt in the process.

Funny enough, Steve was the Panthers' representative in the Madden Bowl before Super Bowl XXXVIII. He beat the Patriot he played. Up to that point, every winning Madden Bowl player won the Super Bowl that year. So not only did Steve at least used to play video games, he used to dominate at Madden specifically lol.

lol if you think Gettleman really pulled Smith aside and said "You can't play anymore" you've basically bought into Smith's bullshit to the point of cult leader status.

Exactly. This whole thing is just about how Steve PRECEIVED what was told to him. Not what actually happened.

I think the term "sports fan" comes from a Latin word that has the same root as the word for "hypocrite"

And be honest JR, I'm pretty sure your attitudes about Terrell Owens shifted a lot between his Cowboy days and his Eagle days.

Not going to drag that into the discussion because it was a totally different situation.

Steve Smith started here and was the heart and soul of this organization. When the media was making up all these false stories (lol) that he might be cut this place was 100% behind him and the media was the Devil.

Oh wait, the media was right????!!!  90% of the people then were on team "Burn in Hell Gettleman and Riveria!" The normal 10% of rational people were on team "Nothing we can do about it, lets move on."

Now there are shots fired at Gettleman and Rivera and the majority of the people want to Steve Smith to burn in Hell yet he is speaking his mind as he has his entire life.

Then you have the group the says " I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT STEVE SMITH", yet they are usually  the first people to open and post in a Steve Smith thread and continue it for 47 pages.

Yeah the whole fanatic thing comes into play here for sure but the pendulum sure has swung for all but the 10% rational people.

Pretty sure it's not Steve Steve who is Bi-polar, it's actually the Huddle.

Shots fired!

Can we just get a filter for Steve Smith's name? Like we did with Michael Vick and The Golden Calf of Bristol but completely irrelevant. Like instead of "short angry guy" which is kind of an accurate descriptor, it would be "Alf" or "Gene Simmons" or "Mr. Floppy from Unhappily Ever After".

Cam called him mighty mouse

I love Smitty but dude is a drama queen.  When he feels he's been disrespected, it's on.  I'd say that most of us regular folks are disrespected in some from or another every week and as adults we keep our mouth shut because we're not in high school.  Smith has tried to take the high road but being Steve he can't stay on it.  He lets his emotions and lack of maturity get the best of him.

My favorite part of the interview was when he said basically that he wasn't a distraction, that he never hit a women, never got a DUI, yeah, he hit a couple of team mates but he never hit a women.

steve seems jordan esque in the sense that every little damn thing is a perceived slight or some kind of challenge to his manhood

like that story about MJ losing a game of ping pong at a christmas party, going and buying a ping pong set for himself, practicing constantly, and whupping everyone's ass the next year.  you could replace his name with "steve smith" in that story and i wouldn't bat an eye.

And what makes you think Richardson will be just as forgiving? Although he's not taking shots at the organization, he's taking shots at his front office (particularly the guy who he hired to right the ship). If this continues, I don't see how Smitty retires as a Panther.

Smitty is crafty, and I don't think JR will take his shots personal. I think he more than anybody understands both sides. Gentleman has no ties to 89, JR does. Plus you can say what you want about the panthers, but they do the right thing in the end. Plus Smitty will be on a Panthers love fest by then, hell he really is now. All of his anger seems to point at one man, but he still wants to be here.
