CC Early 2015 Mock Off-Season

I'm not jumping off the season yet. I feel confident that we will get it together. But, it is difficult looking at the schedule. I think we're a 7-9 team; could be 8-8 and that will put you in the playoffs (NFCS). However, I'm going to give NO the edge even with them being 1-3 atm due to our inability to run the damn fuggn ball. We are one dimensional right now and Shula is still running the ball with no namers rather than airing it. With that said, I'm predicting that we'll be picking around the 15-25 range in next year draft. I hope I'm wrong.

- Denarius Moore, WR

Gettleman isn't going anywhere, but his seat may be getting a little hotter now after seeing how this offense is looking. Unlike Hakeem Nicks, Dave Gettleman will "AGREE" that Carolina is the best fit for Denarius Moore. Plus, Moore won't cost us a hand or leg.

- Dwayne Harris, WR

Philly Brown has looked better as a wide receiver than a returner. Harris will be a great pick up to return the ball.

- Patrick Robinson, CB

BUST written all over Robinson who was a former 1st rounder. However, Gettleman will continue to work with a patched up secondary.

2015 NFL DRAFT

(1) Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin, 6'1" 207lbs

*Crazy speed

*Shifty / ability to bounce outside / shake off tackles

*Physical enough to run inside

*Great vision / patient runner

Running the ball is a serious problem here in Carolina. Its time to clean up and rebuild the skill positions. We cleaned house with the receiving corp this past offseason. Now, its time to do the same at running back. We're going to move on from Dwill after this season.

I'm taking Melvin Gordon based on who we might have at the RB position next year + depth of OT/RB classes in FA and the Draft. Gordon is averaging a crazy 7.8 ypc this season through four games.

Melvin Gordon is the second coming of Jamaal Charles, and it's not just the hair and #25 that they both wear. If we are going to pay Cam Newton the money we all think he will get, we better surround him with playmakers right now. A core of Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin, and Melvin Gordon as the future of this offense will be downright nasty!

(2) Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami, 6'6" 322lbs

*Massive size / physicality

*Pure, legitimate LT

*Mauler in the run game

*Solid pass protector / solid feet

*Runs well for a guy that big

A reach? HELL NO! The more I get to see Ereck Flowers, the more I fall in love for him. And, Carolina fans better start to learn who this bad boy is. I like Flowers just as much as La'el Collins. The kid is a day1 plug and play guy at LT. A huge upgrade over Byron Bell and will protect Cam for years to come. Flowers was the reason why the highly touted Seantrel Henderson never saw a snap at LT for the Hurricanes.

(3) Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon, 6'6" 299lbs

*NFL RT

*Technician

*Uses his hands well / long arms

*Finishes plays

*Solid in pass protection / rarely let defenders beat him inside

Fisher made the transition to the blind side this year for the Ducks, but I think he's still best suited for the RT in the NFL. He showcased a damn good performance against one of the best college pass rusher in Shilique Calhoun this year. He did tear his ACL late last year, and just re-injured the same right knee.

I wanted to draft a safety, but both Harper and DeCoud are on 2yr deals.

And, if Gman is going to take Tre Boston that high in the 4th over a lot of other guys, especially OLs who were available then I'm assuming that he likes Boston enough to be a future starter.

Yep sadly I think DG is high on Boston too and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Nothing from his cut ups stood out to me. Decoud and Harper are unfortuently both here next year as well.

I'd love to get Landon Collins if he's available when we pick. Then we'd have some solid youth at each level of our D.

Your first 3 picks would make immediate impacts imo. I can't remember where I saw the comparison of Gordon to Jamaal Charles but it's dead on. Charles is a bit faster but as far as run style they're are very similar.

Collins is high on my list. Too high that I don't think we'll have a chance to grab him. Collins will be a top 7-10 pick by draft day. The need for an impact safety is huge today. Collins is top and bottom a better prospect than Barron and Vaccaro and both those guys went high.

Melvin Gordon is a first round talent. Like Gurley, Gordon has power back ability, agility, and good hands. Both also have some speed with as well as vision.

If we go for a rb later, I personally would choose Duke Johnson. Excellent vision, shiftiness, speed, and return ability.

Either way, this upcoming years draft will have running backs that have legit first and second round talent.
