I agree with putting KK out there. For sure him and star should be our starting DTs

I would like to see more quick short passes to help the fact we have no run game. We need to see show philly/avant quick slants to get us away from having 3rd and long options. Make the offense more up tempo. We saw cam kill it in a faster paced offense against Detroit. I think that would go along way to make up for the poor oline play

Number one is clearly the Huddle's addition of a premium section. It has been all down hill for the Panthers since then...SCIENCE!

The problem with the offense comes down to Shula ... He has to know the Oline is terrible, why would you ever call a 7 step pass play. Then when the team enters the redzone he loses his mind and forgets what worked. He has called some of the worst plays in the redzone.

Well, 

 

1) OL is just God freaking awful. On run locking and pass blocking. 

 

Solution - Go to a quick 3 step drop passing attack with mostly short routes. Even the crappiest of OLmen can cover for 3 seconds (generally). 

 

2) Defense - This is largely attributed to the DL. They are getting man handled at the point of attack. Also been an issue with gap assignment. Even Luke has been losing gap control / assignment. This is in turn affecting the secondary (especially the S's). Our DB's are simply not good enough to cover for any significant amount of time.

 

Solution - Start Short. Go over the basics of gap control. Light a fire under their a$$. I think the D will get things turned around. If we have another 2 games of this then I will go from this is a blimp to this is the norm. At present I will give the D and RR the benefit of the doubt.

 

3) O Playcalling / Shula - He is not adapting to the circumstances. Still continues to run the ball right up the gut. Still has way to many long developing routes. Still not enough check downs for Cam.

 

Solution - He needs to completely re-tool his offensive philosophy to better suit are weakness and advantages. Of which I highlighted earlier. 

 

4) Injuries / Suspensions / Players MIA - Guys like Davis,DW, and Cam need to get healthy. Hardy needs to come back from suspension. CJ needs to show up in a bloody game. He has went completely ghost. 

 

Solution - Fug IDK

 

The biggest issue with the OL is chemistry and the constant rotation at RG. We need to start Turner and keep him in unless he needs a breather.  IMO Chicago game is where the OL & DL turns the season around.

Short has been our best Dlineman. He needs to start. The keep guys fresh thing is not working. Let your best players play the most and take them out only of they are gassed.

So Bell is allowing teams to run right through us and allowing receivers to run free in our secondary?

But since you bring up the recent deficiencies of our defense let me say this. From my observations, the defense will correct their issues faster and more effectively than the offensive will. Why do I say this??? Because we have the personnel to play better defense. I don't think this is true about the offensive line. And who plays the most important role of the O line? The LT. Bell is going to get CAM killed. Last Sunday against the Ravens it started with our first offensive play, Suggs blew by bell like he wasn't even standing there, and the nightmare lasted for four quarters. And if something doesn't change it's going to continue until CAM gets hurt., seriously hurt. So yes, Byron Bell is at the top of the list concerning needed improvement.

I kinda agree, and disagree.

 

 

This team can't score points, haven't been able to in a couple seasons.  We mess up a few plays, and our O can't overcome it.

 

I think it's more scheme than leadership.

To me this is the one thing that is different from last year. We seem to make more mistakes, at the worst time, than we did last year.

I know we made mistakes last year. But not like this. We have made more mistakes already this year than all of last year put together.

We need to get back to playing Panther football. Disciplined football. And quit making all these dumb mistakes.

We will get healthy and be fine, it is hard to replace TD and when things got to rolling downhill it really snowballed!
