Rivera: Panthers Tempted to Unleash Cam?

Yup....now imagine if we had a Chip Kelly or similar...

This is what you get with conservative play not to lose defensive minded HCs.....so tired of it.

Dood said he doesn't want him to embrace his natural style of play....lol just wow.

That's why I wished we had another coach.

The Panthers don't look to improve until poo really goes south for awhile....we may be stuck with our dead weight for a few years....that's the mentality that gets your franchise 0 back to back winning seasons....and we've been dealing with it going on 20 years now.

Name the last drastic, out of the box, or bold move the Panthers made.

No matter what the coach the Panthers always look the same. I feel you can only look to the top and by top I mean JR.

that's not even far off. some of his best drives have come when he was allowed to run up-tempo drives, calling his plays at the line.

I was being serious too. I'm a big criticizer of Cam due to the little things that he is still doing since day 1, but I'm not dumb enough to put all the blame on him. FUG SHULA!

We need to give Cam a real OC who will utilize his abilities and improve the negatives. Cam benefits when he runs a fast tempo offense.

Auburn's defense couldn't stop my grandma. Didn't stop Cam.

Cam Newton is a playmaker. He can light up the scoreboard if they'd take off the goddamn straight jacket & quit trying to force a game managing, ball control offense.

I'm not saying go ultra conservative. I'm saying I don't want 2011 where we don't win.

There is a time and a place to unleash cam. But you have to have a balance. Our defense will get their poo together. We need 2013 cam not 2011

See these types of remarks doesnt help Rivera at all. Its just like last year when he finally realized after the Buffalo game that we needed to start taking chance and putting the game in our hands and it changed the season around. But it took a 0-2  start coming off the previous year for him to wake up? Way to piss off the fanbase Rivera.

I agree and have thought this for awhile...I don't know if Rivera has it all going on upstairs if you know what I mean...not saying he's stupid but he clearly isn't thinking clearly or has his head somewhere else when it comes to the entire picture(offense especially).

Add in all these stupid mental mistakes the players keep making like 12 men on the field and non stop barrage of penalties against the Panthers this year and Rivera has a lot to answer for IMO. He also has odd favorites and benches people seemingly at random for poor performances...like he'll bench White for a mistake but not some others. He's only had one good year and the rest is average at best...nothing he's done has screamed "Wow this guy has it as a HC" or "Man this guy is going to be special".

I don't think DG is too interested in having a "running" qb... seems to be an old school guy who wants a qb who will sit in the pocket.

If this is true, DG should have never been hired right after we spent the first pick of the entire draft on a versatile QB like Cam Newton.  I like DG, but if what your saying is true, Mr. Richardson made a huge mistake.  I hope your wrong because Cam will never truly succeed with a GM that refuses to build around Cam  with the appropriate personnel.

I am not sure if I believe this but lets assume it's true then I'd say he better pull his nipple shorts down and get with the times. I'll not have that bullshit when we have one of the most dynamic QB's ever...it's complete trash how this organization wastes easy HoF talent with their nonsense. fug Andrew Luck and those other lucky bastard new age QBs.... man imagine if Cam was on that team or if Cam played for SF or Seattle...my god...

Hell we saw what running a fast tempo offense does when we played Detroit this year. We didnt actually move the ball till we went to a fast tempo! And Detroits defense has been really good this year outside of our game. SMDH

Yea Shula see's what's working then immediately does the opposite...usually results in a run up the gut for -2 to +2 yards and a momentum killer. Also I love the whole wait till 1-2 seconds left on the play clock and same snap count every single play. Nothing like having a shitty OL and using the same snap count everytime so the defense knows when to tee off.

    • i felt good for those few games that bryce didn't look like the worst in the league. all that fell apart again sunday.  i'm borderline just bailing on it all. i've been hanging on by a thin thread for several years. i mean it's not even fun to watch any football right now.
