How far are we from a Superbowl push?

The 2008 Arizona Cardinals were 9-7, lost 4 of 6 entering the playoffs, and were blown out of the water multiple times in that stretch.

Also as hurt as we are as a team no one, including the Kraken, is out for the year.

If I'm betting money, I say two years. Again it even took Michael Jordan 7 years in a far less "team" sport. But who knows, could be sooner, could be later. It's coming though.

I believe we are only the following away from being a contender:

A healthy Cam Newton

A Byron Bell and Nate Chandler free o-line

Sadly, neither of these will happen this year.

I have faith Rivera will fix the defense.  He's had them playing very well for the last 20+ games to make me lose faith after two bad games.

To make a Super Bowl push we need:

A competent offensive line including a solid left tackle

One healthy solid running back but preferably a physical bruiser in the mold of Marshawn Lynch. Gurley come on down.

A big lockdown corner. A young guy with size and speed and great instincts.

A dominant safety.

Maybe even a pass rusher now that Hardy is out and Johnson has been invisible.

We have a ways to go. Essentially, the Seahawks mold.
