Gamble retired the moment he was cut.  One of my all time favorite players.  His rookie year was something special.  Pretty sure that year both he and Lucas had 6 picks each.

Deshaun Foster. Minus his lack of productivity and his fumbling problem, he was easily the top panthers RB of all time. He's only 34; with this line, you can just imagine the kinds of stats he would be racking up.

That TD run against Philthy was arguably the best in team history.

Gamble was an extremely underrated corner for us. During his last few years he was quietly a top 5 CB with absolutely no recognition even from our own fans.

What is he doing now? To my knowledge he is on no social media and hasn't been a part of any alumni gatherings at games. He never had a retirement press conference, and I don't think he even released his own statement when he retired. It was all through his agent.

for the last couple years of his career, the idea of chris gamble was better than the actual presence of chris gamble.

 

he made no real difference at all on the field and when he was on it you couldn't tell from the results anymore than when he wasn't.

 

remember he was benched in one of fox's last years and the feeling that i got for the reasoning was his head just wasn't in it and i don't think it had been for several years, which is why when he was cut he just stopped. if he had wanted to continue to play, he could have gone into the market (albeit a pretty crappy one for CBs at that time) and found a place to play, but he just decided it wasn't important enough.
