At what point does Rivera consider the nuclear option...

Yea, you're right.  You obviously know better than the coach who is with the team everyday and knows their strengths/weaknesses.  I'm sure that nobody on the coaching staff has considered the idea of short/quick passes to take the pressure of Cam and the O-line.

Have you sent your resume in to the team?  I think you'd be a big asset to helping the team improve on offense.

have you seen the team run a screen play?  you're damn right I could help the team improve..  lol

I saw them attempt to run two yesterday and both were blown up within seconds.  I'm not a Shula lover.  He has his flaws.  My point in this whole conversation is that he isn't THE problem.  We have much bigger issues than his play calling.

You guys are talking about running a WCO.  We aren't suited for it.

We run slants.  We run hitches. We run quick outs.  Do you want us to run it ever play?

I'm not necessarily advocating a WCO offense. But Giants fans would have told you for years, Eli could never run their offense this year, cause he was awful at short throws. Much worse than what many Panthers fans thought Cam was before last year and 2012.

So I'm not sure if you can say, "we aren't suited for it" for a WCO type offense. Neither were the Giants and Eli.

Plus, Cam did start throwing shorter passes, starting the 2nd half of 2012 after Chud was fired. So he can do it.

The answer is not really a WCO. It's more so, taking what the defense gives you until you can strike down field.

That's what Shula lacks, cause he appears to lack the ability to read/feel the flow of a game, whether it's 7 pass plays in a row, or 5 run plays.

they ran three yesterday and the line couldn't block for poo.

i'm telling you, with the personnel we have we can't do much of anything. we can't run with this line and udfa rbs. cam barely has time to throw as it is. Chandler was getting beaten like a fuging drum all damn day. amini has looked terrible. bell has looked average as usual.

it's honestly gotten to the point, where my head tells me to just bench Cam even though i don't want that to happen and i know it won't.

this is by far one of the worst lines possibly in the history of the nfl. It's chicago bears a couple years ago bad.

dude, everyone and their mother knows we have bigger issues, but until those issues are fixed the freaking OC has to do better than a below average job at calling a sequence of plays....

it's his job.  it cannot go ignored.

Rank these in order of concern.

a. QB play

b. Running backs

c. Pass blocking

d. Run blocking

e. Play calling

If your asking me here it is:

Run blocking

Pass blocking

Rushing attack

Play Calling

QB

There are much bigger concerns than Shula.

To clarify:  In no way shape or form am I saying QB play is a problem.

Ramsdell won't be calling plays this year. His role on the team has been greatly inflated on this site by speculation.

I don't think that's entirely true...the routes the WR's are running are a bit different than years past as far as I've noticed.  Only problem is, the O-Line doesn't protect long enough for those routes to get open so, it's all for naught.

DG needs to work on a trade and soon. Even if it means giving up a 2nd rounder. Cam is going to get fuging killed back there.

i was optimistic to start the season. And thought holy hell the first two games. They have completely fallen apart.

we actually thought the Panthers were SB contenders after the 1st 2 games... holy poo.
