Cam's touch and anticipation

[WOW!!]

Yeah everyone talking about how KB was wide open and the coverage was busted.

But he was so open because Cam was staring down his right half and the safety started drifting over there. At the last second he looked back left and fired a rocket, the safety had no chance.

Something he definitely has gotten better at and it's pretty exciting. This ankle injury may help him be an all around better QB in the long run.

Yes I love the TD pass but the pass to the outside shoulder to KB was magic. If KB didn't bobble it would be a top dime play.

We all knew that Cam had a cannon arm, and could make every throw and fit the ball in the tightest window. 

But this year, he has taken major steps as a passer while having almost no offseason.

 

His anticipation and ball placement has improved. The receiver can keep on running while in the previous years, they had to stop to catch the ball. It's still not perfect, but he made major strides.

 

His touch is so much better. The ball to Cotchery over the DB was perfection, and I noticed that he's taking more speed off the ball. Cam used to only throw fastballs, but he has changed that and that makes it easier for the receivers to catch.

 

With almost no offseason, new receivers, a bad offensive line, Cam has become a much better pocket passer. That's great news for the future of the team.

Every season I read something like this on this site about Cam. Followed by another Thread about the areas Cam needs to fix.

 

The endless threads on Cam must gives those on the outside the impression that the kid is the only thing wrong with this team. 

And interestingly enough, some of u seem to believe that Cam is so talented that that should be enough to make up for this teams real glaring issues.

Then the would be TD to KB was a perfectly drop pass most QB'S can't do.

man, talk about a game of inches.  that was a pube hair away from being a beautiful TD.

"Still not perfect"... Come on...

People need to stop expecting perfection from anyone on this team not just Cam. This is why Cam will never be able to please everyone here, expectations for him are unrealistic. His pocket passing has been phenomenal this season. Give Cam a line and he'll make due with any WR group, that much is obvious now.

I'm guessing not many watched Brees miss some throws last night. Is he still developing? No QB is perfect, missed throws are going to happen.

 

And there lies the real problem with some on this site. Many like u keep pointing it out.

 

Their definition of perfection isn't real. There is NO such thing as a "perfect QB" in this league. NOT one. Even the seasoned Vets like Brees, Peyton, and Brady need help to make their throws look sweet. Cam don't need to be perfect. He just need consistently good players who are willing to play their role, around him and a coach who knows how to make necessary adjustments when the game  calls for it.

I think he has adequate weapons. Would more be nice? Sure, but OL and OC upgrades would go a lot further.

This a million times! All the weapons in the world don't matter if you are gonna call plays the take 5+ seconds to develop, while having a less than average offensive line.

If Cam had the time to go thru his progressions, he could be successful with what he has. This is a pretty good receiving core:

- 6'5" 245 first round pick

- two sure handed vets

- WR turned TE (very reliable)

- hometown boy with something to prove

- UDFA with 4.35ish speed also needing to prove something.

That doesnt even include Swole.

Weapons are not the problem. Thats all Im sayin.

Cotchery and Avant are more than competent replacements for Lafell and any other receiver we had last season. If we hadn't invested $13 million in a guy who isn't even playing and been able to get a competent left tackle Cam would be on par for his best season to this point. At least throwing the ball.

People need to realize that was a 3rd down and long play when they knew we were passing and that passing window was almost non-existent.

But Cam is the problem? ???

Yeah right!!

 

But, but, but DA would have got it out quicker.  I don't get it either.  Cam is still faster than DA while hurt and is making these type of throws.  We get this o-line thing going and we will reap the rewards.
