Anderson is a better option than Cam right now

handicapped being the key. Just don't want that to turn into out for the year. Then you get DA every week.

His injuries this offseaon helpedu improve his passing this season. A handicapped season will likely make him a better player overall going forward

You don't sit your QB if he's healthy just to make yourself feel better.

Quite ironic that people using this argument are the same ones raging about never having back to back winning seasons.

Well guess what, we never will if we pack poo in 4 games into a 16 game season.

TheRed... Cam is not healthy. He's far from it.

LOL

Cam is the only we have going for us....

And here comes a bench Cam thread. DA can't run so he ain't bringing anything more to the table than what Cam is doing.

Cam as a passer has been straight up strong this year. Dude has never looked sharper in his career and doing it while hurt.

I wish I could give this post multiple pie.

This is, by far, the best I have ever seen Cam Newton as a passer.  Shame it comes in a season where our offensive line is worse than ever and he is banged up.  Newton has done all he can possibly do given the circumstances.  We are fielding the worst OL in the NFL and arguably the worst running game in the NFL alongside the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It has gotten to the point where it really is a waste of time to try and explain things to folks anymore. They have these goofy thoughts, like sitting Cam, and you cannot sway them.

It is the same after every loss. Emotional over-reactions lead to goofy azz comments. No one has any patience anymore. They deserve it now, and by God you had better give it to them.

You can't blame everything on Madden. Some blame has to go to just not caring enough to learn the game. Have interwebz, and there is no need for knowledge.

Sad but true.

Protecting him is the only possible justification you could use for sitting him at this point. But as mentioned, doing so acknowledges acceptance that you're punting on the season.

I'd still have to be talked into that.

Not packing up the season. Sit your starter to heal in order to go the long hall.

I completely agree that Cam is looking fantastic back there. He has improved every season, and I think he'll continue to improve.

But, he's hurt and not able to protect himself right now. With that worst oline in the NFL and arguably worst running game. Truth be told, Cam has been the Panthers running game for at least the past 2 seasons.

Currently Anderson is playing at a higher level than Cam (insert garbage time comment). You can see that Anderson is more poised in the pocket and is making quicker decisions. Cam is clearly hurt. You can see when he doesn't have that option to run, even if he wouldn't choose to run first, he is less dynamic. I say bench Cam a couple of weeks. Let him heal up to get his running ability back so that he can come back more confident for the long hall of the season and into the playoffs.

Let the bashing begin.

Yeah, Cam is the reason why the offense, defense, and coaching suck on this team. Any excuse to get rid of him.

Anderson comes in and throws a couple good drives and let's bench Cam. Do it... Then send him off to another team like u do all of ur good players. Then sit and hope and pray they don't play the Panthers and embarrass them.

Same BS different player.

No, I disagree. I have played this game at a very high level and I understand the implications of sitting your starting QB.

I don't know what the right move might be, but it's hard watching that young man back there, obviously hurt - maybe even a little injured, not able to protect himself while this oline allows 3 of 4 pass rushers into the backfield in less than 2 seconds.

If Cam was healthy - no brainer. He has to play with the cards DG dealt him. But, Cam is trying to extend plays in ways he just can't right now. And if anyone that has watched the past 3 games, can not see Cam is not himself, then you haven't been watching the past 3 years. He is a dynamic runner and one of the most elusive players in the league when healthy. Right now, DA looks just as elusive as Cam. And that can get this kid hurt.

Agree it's tough to watch.

Four seasons in and this team is still making excuses for why their QB is to blame for the team's issues.

Do u guys read the stuff u post? U r basically now blaming Cam because ur team isn't doing their job. What the heck!!! Ur anger is so misguided it's pathetic.

    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
    • I dont think the clock has started yet on canales.  Once he gets his guy then the pressure starts.  WFNZ/mike kaye said  yesterday that he thinks there are 4 options here regardless of bryces status, Geno, Fields, Wilson maybe Jones.
