Anderson is a better option than Cam right now

But he's healthy enough to play. He could get hurt when he's completely healthy too.

What message does that send to other players that are playing banged up? How is Cam supposed to be the leader we need him to be if he's on the bench but can still play?

You can't afford to be that cautious unless you already want to throw in the towel on this season. And Cam is definitely not going to do that.

I don't understand this. So is Cam not suppose to play at anything under 100%?

How can he asked other injured players to run thru a wall for him if he isn't able to do it for them??

the season is early and we can afford to be that cautious at this point. if he is in danger of more serious injury you don't let him make that call.

To anyone coming at this from a "I'm afraid Newton is going to get broken in half, we need to protect the long term investment" angle, I get you. I disagree, but I understand where you're coming from. You're getting lumped in with the folks who are hoping Anderson comes in and takes the job, which isn't really fair. We cool.

Anyone coming from the "Anderson is better" angle, I don't know what you're actually watching and am pretty sure most of you are seizing what you see as an opportunity to get rid of/bench Cam. Or trolling. You're never going to get that NCAA season back where $CAM broke your team in half. Sorry! Just speaking of performance, he's been very good as a pocket passer this year. His accuracy is great, he's yet to throw an INT, he's showing a nice mix of howitzers and touch balls and he's doing it with less of a run game and defense than Anderson did when he lucked out on a win in Tampa. You know it. Hell the media knows it, which is saying something. Prove that Anderson is a better player or stop wasting time on troll posts/threads.

I can see some of their points as well about the long-term health of Cam. But until those injuries start effecting his play or he becomes the major reason we are losing. Then I don't see how sitting him is a productive move on the field or off.

this reminds me of Tiger woods, he was injured but playing well so he went for it and now is still paying for it.

Exactly and if you sit Cam it's a clear sign to the players in the locker room that the season is over. Unless you think there is a better option on the roster.

If he was in danger of a more serious injury. He wouldn't be playing.

The medical staff has cleared him. If they thought he could face major injury, they would not clear him.

It is just that simple. He is dinged up. He is not ambulatory.

totally disagree as the qualifying statement was "we can afford to be "cautious." your scenario falls under "we cannot afford to be cautious."

You really do not give the other players much credit for knowing what is what.

No you give no credit to the mentality of a football player and competitor.

A leader doesn't put his needs over the needs of the team. And this team needs Cam on the field.

well ,yes, he is ambulatory but that is neither here nor there.

I do not share your confidence   of not being in danger.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
