Anderson is a better option than Cam right now

No, I disagree. I have played this game at a very high level and I understand the implications of sitting your starting QB.

I don't know what the right move might be, but it's hard watching that young man back there, obviously hurt - maybe even a little injured, not able to protect himself while this oline allows 3 of 4 pass rushers into the backfield in less than 2 seconds.

If Cam was healthy - no brainer. He has to play with the cards DG dealt him. But, Cam is trying to extend plays in ways he just can't right now. And if anyone that has watched the past 3 games, can not see Cam is not himself, then you haven't been watching the past 3 years. He is a dynamic runner and one of the most elusive players in the league when healthy. Right now, DA looks just as elusive as Cam. And that can get this kid hurt.

I agree with almost everything you say. The only thing I differ with you on is letting Cam play. If the doctors, coaches, and Cam all feel he can play without making anything worse. Why not let him play. If they thought he could be put in danger, they would probably not let him play.

Cam is a big, tough kid. He wants to play. As long as there is no significant injury worries, and he continues to play as well as he has. Let him play.

To my knowledge, the only folks worried about Cam getting hurt worse than he is. Are the fans. Let the guys who know the situation make the decision.

If Cam was playing poorly because of the injuries, maybe I would be with you on sitting him. But he is playing so well, let him continue.

Why even have forums u should just make this all about U. Im not allowed an Opinion. I've been a carolina fan way before cam. I'm not a carolina fan because of Cam like others.

You either don't know football, can't read stats, or a undercover troll with that opinion.

At least others with that opinion are worried about Cam's long-term health which is somewhat understandable.

You actually think DA would be a better QB in this situation we're in. Which is completely false and has no stats to back up.

If we're going to be fair then Joe Webb should have a chance too!

Cam actually looked less banged up yesterday and I thought he looked smoother on that 1 run out of the pocket. It's not going to happen overnight, he'll slowly trust his ankle more and more.

DA is not the answer, stop using Cam as a scapegoat for our bazillion other problems, he's been one of the few bright spots.

I was hoping after the preseason games joe webb would have been over DA. That one pass he had for about 60 yards was very impressive for Joey.

that is a completely different thing.

dudes knee was falling off

cam has cracked ribs and a complete REPAIRED ankle

it won't be different if he gets hurt worse.. I do not think he would lose the respect of his teammates if he was held out or saw limited minutes for a game or two. His ankle maybe repaired but he is definitely not full speed  and that can get him hurt.

He would lose a lot of respect. Specially with players who are playing thru their injuries. How can Cam look another guy in the face and asked him to leave it all on the field if he isn't willing to do it.

Yeah... I can see that too. I totally get you and Mr. Scot's point. It might be too early to talk about pulling him while he's playing so well.

But, damn I'm scared this kid will get hurt playing behind this incredibly subpar oline.

I'm in the DC area, and the recent RG3 fiasco has me very worried about Cam.

i don't know if anderson is necessarily the better option to win, but they have sucked with cam so that's almost moot.  what i do know is that with no d-will, j-stew the panthers will not scare anybody in the run game and they will find themselves in a lot of 2nd and 3rd and longs.  that is no bueno for cam if anybody is ever wanting him to get near 100% or god forbid not get himself injured seriously.

cam's not an all out pocket passer.  his reads are slow and he's bad against pressure.  this all equals taking wicked hits time and time again behind a weak oline.  eventually one of those hits is gonna be the end of the year and possibly more.  he just missed it against pitt.  playing with fire right now.

i just hate it when players have to compensate in certain areas of their game.  always seems to be a recipe for disaster on the injury front and this is exactly what cam is having to do.  it would be one thing if he was an immobile QB to begin with, but cam's anything but and he has molded his game as such.  what we see on the field is not cam anywhere close to 100.  i'd sit him until he's more healthy and able to get himself out of a pocket that is collapsing in on itself like a dying star.

Pretty much.

He's not playing bad. So if you sit him it's a clear sign you have given up on the season. And that you clearly take away his ability to motivate a team when other players are injured and still asked to play.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
