Anderson is a better option than Cam right now

I don't buy this "let Cam heal" bs. If our defense was holding up and we were winning nobody would say anything even if he was getting smashed around on offense. Can you all imagine what happens when Cam actually throws his first pick of the season? The uproar in Charlotte will be crazy.

Fact: Cam has been passing extremely well and very efficient.

Fact: Cam is hurt.

Fact: He is learning what it takes to become a truly great pocket passer bc he can't run.

Fact: missing one game was hard on Cam, imagine more

Fact: DA isn't the answer

Fact: Cam and the panthers need to find a will to fight through this together

Fact: Benching Cam is not the answer. Its just searching for answers to the wrong question

DA's not the better option but he's the safer option.

If we're planning on inking Cam to a new deal I would put him on IR right now and role with Anderson for the rest of the year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that unless Shula changes his ways (starts calling short slants, quick screens, short out routes), Cam will end up seriously injured by the end of the year.

Cam is clearly not in the right frame of mind right now and with a bad rib cage, a gimpy ankle, and an awful OL... I don't think I would risk it this year.

However, if he's not in the teams long term plans then by all means play him.

As long as Cam is able to play he should play.

He is still a young QB and the game time experience, even hurt, is invaluable to further refining his abilities.

It's only invaluable if he can perform to the best of his abilities and not risk further injury which could shorten his career.

At this point, I can honestly say that keeping him out there might not be worth it. Not only for his safety but for the preservation of our franchise QB.

Bullshit, short of Cam pulling or breaking something he is going to be on the field. Right now all Cam is dealing with is soreness, you are acting like Cam is out there with a cane or a wheelchair.

If it was just soreness then he would be moving around much better than he currently is and he he wouldn't be walking back to the huddle gingerly every time he gets knocked down.

And with our OL and play calls that keep the ball in Cam's hands to long, a broken bone is an extreme possibility.

Only now you have made it worse... Cam's got a banged up rib cage, a gimpy ankle, and a fractured collar bone.

Good job coach.

I think some of you are forgetting Cam is a competitor.  If he is healthy enough he is going to play.  The training staff kept him off the field because they wanted his ribs to heal a bit more.  I doubt they would let him on the field if he was too banged up to play.

If Cam is up to it, the training staff feels he is OK then he'll play.

You can't have a game manager with no Oline or better then normal weapons around him.

We can't run the fuging ball so even with DA (who isn't a better pocket passer then Cam) in. We wouldn't have a ball control offense.

Agreed. And In my opinion like you said the money you save on Cam should certainly be used on a line.

However no matter who is back there that's what shula is trying to do. Ball control.

Please insert Anderson.

This season stinks of failure anyways and I want to laugh at the tear-streaked faces when Anderson doesn't turn poo around playing the right way,

Please, please do this.

Da played against 2 and 3 string D's and almost lost us the bucs game how is he the better option

Then you can't have any other player on the team play while their hurt anymore. Then you also take any leadership Cam has when you shut him down to save him but won't do it for anybody else. He loses all respect from the other players in the locker room who are playing with injuries. As a leader you are asked to do what you would ask your soldiers to do.
