leaders are chosen by those who follow, not by GM's. there is no traditional leader there are just leaders.

I can personally think of about three people to take up that role. On the offense it's Cam and Olsen and defense it's Luke. They each of their own way of showing it but have shown the most emotion these last two games. Luke may not have played to well recently but none of the defense has either. I wish I could see a little more "anger" that translates to better on field play from the team since they are better than the way they have played the last two weeks.

It just doesn't seem like players respond well to Cam. Just my opinion.

 

Cam Newton is not a 'stand up and give a fiery speech' type of leader.  That's not his thing.  Asking him to try and be that would be a mistake, same as it was when they tried to nudge Julius Peppers in that direction.

 

But that certainly isn't the only way to be a leader.
