the entire secondary is garbage if there isn't a pash rush. You can disguise a bad secondary if you have a good F7 and can generate a pass rush - but when you can't, they get exposed. Hardy certainly looks like a difference maker for this team.

Heres the bigger question, we know where Hardy is at...but where the fug is CJ?  Is he even still employed?  I mean, according to our cap, he's the highest paid non-franchise player, but I have yet to see him.  I see someone in a CJ jersey, he takes the field and occupies space, but has little if any affect on the game.

absolutely agree, been saying this since the SF playoff game.

Maybe because Star benefited from having Greg Hardy on the other side to free him up one on one.

I refuse to believe losing one guy on D has this big of an impact. Sure, i expected a drop off, but losing Hardy justifies us going back to the Fua/Mcclain dark ages?! There are much deeper issues here. Even Keek has looked like crap and that is terribly troublesome

I'm definitely not saying it's only because Greg is gone. First our Defense needs to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and stay discipline. Second is when we get to the QB or force turnovers we win games. Look back at the Pittsburg game and now this game. We haven't forced not one turnover. We haven't given ourselves a chance to win the game on the defensive side.

I just can't comprehend why anyone here is surprised. As the season creeps along - your true identity begins to show and your strengths/weaknesses become more apparent. The panthers have an awful, awful OL. This shouldn't be news to anyone. We all knew this but whether you could admit it or not is a personal decision. The secondary is full of has beens, nobodies, and cast offs from other teams.

There needs to be some accountability by the management by some of the questionable roster moves. Today was an ABSOLUTE PR disaster for Gettleman and organization. A guy they cut just contributed to an embarrassing ass beating. The other contributing factor was the horrible offensive line play. Meanwhile, an UDFA for the Ravens, who a lot of Panthers fans were very familiar with, just had a solid game and certainly looked like he could start for the Panthers.

Everything is easier for Luke when you have elite players around you is:Greg and Thomas. With Greg not playing and frank out keeping Hardy fresh teams don't even worry about a rush coming from that side. Which is making things hard for Charles and Star. And since the front seven isn't as lethal as it once was are already poor secondary is getting ate up.

ill say it again, looking at his body of work...last season was an anomaly. i try to be all in, but i have seen soo many things from this staff, that are incredibly deficient.

Yep.  100% yep.  Cam bailed out Rivera last year and doesn't have the ability to do it right now (praying for ankle and ribs to heal!).  Without Cam turning botched pass plays into 40 yard run gains Rivera's lack of coaching mentality is exposed.

I'm sad right now.  We have the players to make things happen (yes! even with this poo O-line).  We just don't have the coaches to make it happen.

As an example, two weeks in a row I've had to listen to the game commentators talk about how our opposing OC adjusted his gameplan to protect a weakness (Roethlesburger and Flacco getting quick outs) and wondered why our OC didn't do the same thing.  It's *beyond* smh.  It's now at whatever level is beneath that...
