yeah where were you guys when steve smith was actually an elite receiver instead of just collecting a paycheck and apparently poisoning the locker room hmm????

maybe we should sign cris carter and jerry rice they were really good so im sure they'd be great for us maybe ~$6 mil a year is fair i mean who are we to criticize them just because they're "old"

try a legit argument.

he ripped them for a "bad" business decision.carry on...

No

Check his "you still think I can't play ... wait till week 4 muthafugga" rant in week one.

He was not discussing global warming. He was talking about us and he was basically implying that we let him go cuz he can't play. Doesn't bother me. Some people need imaginary disrespect to get them goin, and Smitty is one of those people. We loved him for that when he was here. But now he is not a panther, and speaking as a panthers fan, he is irrelevent to me in 2014

We got bigger problems than smitty if you ask me

Let me take you to a 2014 Panthers with Steve Smith still on it:

- Kelvin Benjamin wouldn't be rapidly developing because Cam would still be feeding 89 so as not to bring down his wrath.

- The locker room with Steve Smith after 2 straight blowout losses would be absolutely toxic right now.

- We'd still be 2-2.

Not to mention steve would probably show up to camp with a beer gut for the 8th straight year and take until week 8 to get into good enough shape do anything.  Jog though routes if we get behind in a game, and maybe even punch josh norman out during practice.

But yeah, he totally didn't treat the panthers like a country club.

so, what's the point? He can still play, he told you he can still play. That is backing up what you say. Another reason it was  bad decision.

Oooo I want to play too!

-KB gets more space due to coverage on Smith, gets even more opportunities.

-We don't lose 2 games and are 4-0

-the real kicker...WE'LL NEVER FUGGING KNOW

I hate it when people say "yeah well he would've been bad for KB's development 4 sure!"

No body knows that because it didn't happen, what if, IF, they were awesome together???

But hey keep telling yourselves that we're better without him, that's why we have this stellar offense right now.  Open your fugging eyes.

he wasn't rapidly feeding him before. all speculation at best, based your disapproval of ss.

Now that the Ravens game is over..  we can all like 89 again.

Keep in mind though............the Panthers don't owe 89 anything..  89 doesn't owe the Panthers anything.   89 played like pure poo last season and then was insulted at the idea of G-man evaluating him,  demanded a release and refused a pay cut.   You play like poo,  you need to get evaluated  that should go for any player on our roster.  He is not above everyone else,  nor should he expect to be.

So......................one 35-year-old receiver lacking the motivation to show that he still has it is all it would have taken for us to have won the past two weeks? Can I have what you're smoking?

Can you tell me one receiver that 89 helped develop? Just one. I'll be over here waiting.

Smith wasn't going to be overpaid.

What?

We still paid him. He is just dead money on the books. So, I don't quite understand this pay cut crap. He still got paid and then some from the Ravens. It would have been better to deactivate him every game and tell him to watch from the stands if you truly thought he was done and a distraction.

He would be the #2 receiver. #3 option. And he could have returned kicks and punts while Philly Brown learns from him whether Smitty likes it or not. Man up and be a leader Rivera, McDermott, and Gettleman. That is what you get paid to do. Not just come up with stubborn crap game plans that look like a 2 year old trying to shove the square block through the round hole.

Get it corrected now, or all of you can enjoy a pink slip while we bring in new management/coaching that has a Riverboat mentality and does not just pull that crap when they think they are about to see the door.

Disgustingly quick decline, horrible handling of off field situations, horrible handling of off season situations, and horrible understanding of your team when setting up game plans which you still clearly cannot adjust for during the game. Smitty and Gross saved you last season. Now you stand alone without a heart for your team.

Get this garbage corrected now!!!

Most 89>>>Panthers fanboys should be more upset that it took getting released before 89 found the chip on his shoulder again.

I'll root for him this year,  he will always be on of my favorite Panthers,  outside of Sam Mills,  Delhomme,  Cam and Gross.   I was a little disappointed though,  in him making a huge scene like a child in the grocery store that was just told he can't have this item or that item.

Yeah cause if he hadn't 'developed' KB then Kelvin would just be running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

What a joke.  And that's not what I'm saying, i'm saying I don't know where we would've been as a team with 89 this year, and neither do you. Period.
