Are we going to completely ignore that Kuechly hasn't been playing well?

Luke Kuechly is good but he's a media creation, much like Andrew Luck. He's not a superstar, he's not a great player. He's a very good young player but vastly overhyped & overrated by ESPN.

Last year he was surrounded by Greg Hardy, Charles Johnson, Star Lotulelei, & Thomas Davis. All 4 of those guys are Pro Bowl caliber players and top 5 at their position. Now two of them are missing and Kuechly looks mortal.

I cringe at all the moronic fans I've heard spew how Kuechly is better & more valuable than Cam.

Damn you put the hammer on the nail! Truest statement I've read in a while.

You guys are being really fuging reactionary right now.

It's the DLine. CJ has been pure poo. Star may not actually be alive. Can somebody check on Star? Cole and Edwards have been bad. Horton has been bad. Addison is fine if all you need is a speed rush. The second they run at him, forget it. Short is the only plus player on the entire line, and they rotate the fug out of him. The line is making the entire back 7 look like total poo, from Melvin White to Luke Kuechly to Thomas DeCoud. Except for Roman Harper. That guy is fuging terrible and makes Charles Godfrey look all-world.

TD looked like crap last week as well. Is he a media creation/overrated/whatever horseshit?

It's the DLine. We get zero pressure without blitzing and with a pretty mediocre secondary that's bad fuging news.

The media doesn't mention Davis, if so he would've made the BS Pro Bowl

Stupidity offends my sensibilities. It doesn't hurt my feelings.

Care to make a rebuttal to their arguments Oh Wise and Great Football Savant?  As far as I can tell, the people criticizing Kuechly have a point.  He has missed a lot of tackles.  He's messed up gap assignments.  He still can't disengage from blockers consistently.  Granted, we knew when we drafted him that he was a tackling machine and not necessarily a classic "thumper", big body MLB.  But still, their arguments hold water.

Yea your feelings are hurt, tough poo guy. Get over it.

You and others in here not knowing what you're talking about isn't a good enough reason to feel sad.

Reading silly, uninformed opinions from people who don't know jack about football doesn't get to my emotions, other than to give me an occasional chuckle.

If this is the most intelligent response you have, I'd say the only people with cause to be sad would be whomever tried to teach you the game.

Not really.

I've watched linebackers from Jack Lambert to Hacksaw Reynolds to Tom Jackson to Derrick Thomas to Junior Seau to Ray Lewis to Brian Urlacher to Luke Kuechly.  Every single one of them has missed tackles (Seau missed a lot), blown assignments, gotten caught up with blockers and even had games where they just looked overall not so good.  Seau in the Super Bowl and Urlacher in the 05 divisional playoffs come to mind.  They certainly had their moments but they were part of overall unsuccessful efforts..

They were still great.  Just not perfect.

No one guy can singlehandedly play defense no matter how good they are.  It's a team effort.  And right now the team isn't looking so hot.  If you want a pretty good analysis of why, take a look back at Sloth's post.  He pretty well nailed it.  Those talking about how much we miss Hardy are right too.

I realize some folks on here are so ADD that they change their opinion about how good a player is from game to game (heck, sometimes even play to play) but I'm one that takes a big picture approach.  Benching everybody who makes a mistake might work in Madden, but in real life it's pretty dumb.

OMG I lold so hard at your Star comment. "Star might not even be alive, can someone check on him." I dont know why but the first thing that popped into my head was Weekend At Bernies only Star being Bernie, someone so needs to take the movie cover of Weekend at bernies and photoshop Star's face on Bernie's body

OK John Madden, I for one didn't say anything about benching anyone who makes a mistake. My opinion is this if you don't like someones comment or opinion don't reply dude. I also see the big picture and this defense is playing like poo. I understand Luke maybe your favorite player and all but he's been playing like poo for the last two games. Is he not the leader on defense?

Oh and the word great is used to loosely nowadays.
