My point is that you need to consider what our defense has done without him in the lineup. We are atrocious and get zero pass rush. So...he WAS worth the franchise tag. Unfortunately he's a freaking moron off the field.

Do I wish we hadn't wasted the money? Of course..but you can't predict that guys are going to be idiots off the field. He's had the most sacks in the league over the last 2 years.

It wasn't worth sacrificing our many weaknesses though. We would be a better team with a better oline and secondary.

Hardy would STILL BE PLAYING had he never been suspended, like I said he shouldn't have been weeks ago. After the Panthers' boneheaded decision to sit him, there is no bringing him back after you start losing. If they couldn't stand up to media pressure before losing two games, let them try to bring him back now.

 

I don't disagree. He shouldn't have been sidelined. This isn't the same as Ray Rice or even Adrian Peterson. But he was, and we cans till change that.

That's what I thought. You could have just google searched a late round tackle that's playing reasonably well, but you were too incompetent to even do that.

Doing so would have had NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER on the point I made and would've therefore been a complete waste of time.

Me: There are clouds in the sky.

You: Tell me what kind of clouds they are.

Me: I don't need to do that to prove there are clouds in the sky.

You: That's what I thought. You could've just googled it and found out.

That's the same conversation we just had about LT, and you are still too clueless to realize you didn't make a point.

What don't you disagree about? The point I made is once you suspend Hardy you will not be allowed to get away with bringing him back after you start losing.

That is the only point I made.

If you don't agree with that then you do disagree.

I doubt one free agent tackle and safety would have made a huge difference today.  I think our problems are deeper then that.

 

I dare say Hardy would have had just as much influence on the game.  Also people seem to forget that while Hardy's cap number is large for this year it is only a one year deal.  Maybe we are desperate for oline help but atleast we aren't overpaying like we have in the past.  Long term we might be able to build a consistent winner.  Something this franchise has never been.

 

People seem to forget that DG not only inherited a salary cap mess but also a bad team.   People around here seem to forget what the record of this team was in the previous 3 years.  In some ways going 12-4 actually made DG's job harder.  Fans tend to get the wrong idea of where the team is at.

 

A lot of people want Shula to be gone but how many GM's are going to release a coach after going 12-4?

Bell/Chandler/Foucault...those are our tackles.  Beyond any cap situation, you have to think we could have found something better somewhere.  I just find it puzzling.  Like ....what were they thinking and why'd so many of us convince ourselves they could at least be average?  My opinion of Chandler has completely reversed in 4 games.

I don't typically express it on the huddle but I just hated how the Smith situation went down.  It just seemed both Rivera and DG simply didn't want him here..so they released the best WR in our franchise's history.

 

Add in the Ealy pick (I'm not saying he's a bust) but there should be a balance between picking priorities v. BPA and DG seems just stubborn at times.  The stubbornness even comes out at his press conferences.  

 

Then add in the assemblage of the current O-Line after all of this annoying hog molly talk

 

And the other thing is the safety position.  I just didn't and still don't understand why Harper is here.  Just a bad pickup.  

 

I'm cool with everything else given the situation he was given coming in but as things move forward, it becomes more and more of a DG/Rivera team and it's not trending well right now.

It's not just because of the loss.  It's about the OL play and Smith situation.  I'm just expressing frustration but not calling for his head.  He seems like a good talent evaluator and he's been in the league forever...I don't see him as a bad GM at all but there's been some decisions made that as a simpleton, grind my gears.
