I've avoided the media and this thread, along with any similar ones for the week, and for good reason... everyone knows Smitty is my favorite player in our franchise history (up to the Cam and Luke era), he was a huge inspiration for me from my teens on. He played with such fire and intensity that you felt it. I have not looked forward to this week... he should not have ever been in any uniform but ours.

That being said, us coming out with the win is the most important, but this will be a tough watch.

Smitty was the second nicest player I ever met at TC (just behind Kris Jenkins), and was very cordial to my daughter. Aside from that, he was a great player, and IMO the best player the Panthers have ever had. So for that, I wish him well and hope he makes the HOF as a Panther. Though I hope he struggles today, he still has my best wishes.
