“I’ll always be grateful for Steve because he’s one of the guys who helped me get to where I am today.” - Rivera

Ron Rivera says he's grateful  for Steve Smith and how he helped the Panthers go 12-4 last year. Said they have exchanged texts at times.

Say what you want about Riverboat Ron but the guy is pure class.  I can't think of another coach who would admit such a thing to themselves,  much less say it publicly.

You have to be kidding..

There is a difference between being tough and being injured.

I gained a whole new respect for stew after I saw his reaction to getting injured last game.

Before all his injuries that kept him out he was playing on bad ankles his entire career. There is no question he is tough.

Guess you don't watch Monday night football

oh i watch MNF. and i was just as ecstatic about last year's win over the Pats as anyone. But that doesnt take away from the fact that elite teams win more often than not on primetime games. This team has a reputation of falling on its face in primetime games, no matter how much you point to the Pats game last year.

if you deny that, then i guess you dont watch all the primetime games....

Always interesting to see the average fan who sits around on game days stuffing their face question the toughness of a pro athlete.
