-The Redskins extend their NFL-best sellout streak to 387 games, including postseason play.

-Giants- Redskins (both 1-2) open Week 4. Since playoffs expanded to 12 teams in 1990, just 14.5% to start 1-3 went on to make playoffs.

-the matchup between the Redskins and the Giants will mark the 165th overall meeting between the franchises and the teams’ 163rd regular season meeting. The series began in 1932 and the two played twice a year during each regular season every year from 1932-now with the exception of the 1967 and 1969 seasons.

-Redskins have the #2 offense and the #4 defense. The Redskins rank No. 2 in the league in offensive yards per game (444.0) and No. 4 in the league in yards allowed per game (282.7). The Redskins are the only team in the NFL to be ranked in the Top 5 in both categories

-If the Redskins score more than 30 pts tonight, they'll have done so in 3 straight games. Hasn't happened since Weeks 15-17 of '05 season.

-Phil Simms, the color commentator tonight, will not being saying the word “Redskins.” Simms said that he would call the team “Washington” during the broadcast, although he said Redskins at least three times during last Thursday’s game between Atlanta and Tampa Bay. Simms has since reiterated he will not say Redskins, but said "It is a habit. I played for 15 years and they were a bitter rival. There is a chance I could slip.” Simms played his whole career with the Giants, winning one Super Bowl MVP

Santana Moss is a healthy scratch for the 4th time this season. Moss signed a one year deal going into this season and is due 955k this season. Moss played in all 16 last year, the skins are loaded at WR. Moss, 35 is on his last legs but would bring something similar as Cotchery and Avant bring to the table. Just saying... He's healthy.

-these two teams are each others' most-contested rivalry, having played each other more than they've played anyone else

-Redskins are 1 of 4 defenses not to allow rushing TD this season. They allowed NFL-worst 23 rush TD last season. This season, Redskins are only surrendering just 64.7 rushing yards per game. Last week, the Redskins held LeSean McCoy, the NFL's 2013 rushing champion, to 22 yards on 19 carries. This week, Washington's defense will be challenged by Rashad Jennings, who ran for 176 yards last week against Houston.

-Eli Manning has won two straight and nine of his last 12 starts against Washington.

-New York is 6-0 when winning the battle since the start of 2013, but only 2-11 when they are even or minus in turnover margin.

-Redskins offense is #2/#5 in the NFL: The Redskins are second in the NFL with 444.0 yards a game and fifth with 81 points.

-Redskins RB Alfred Morris finished fourth in the NFL last year with 1,275 rushing yards and after three weeks, he is again fourth (right behind the Giants’ Rashad Jennings) with 253 yards.

from PFF:

REDSKINS

Kirk Cousins has played great over almost two games ( +6.6 ) and the play of the offensive line — especially former top 5 pick out of Oklahoma and perennial Pro Bowler Trent Williams ( +5.2 overall) — last week is also reason for Redskins fans to be excited going forward. Chris Chester (former 2nd R pick, Oklahoma), the Redskins’ veteran right guard, is currently ranked No. 8 at the position in overall grade ( +3.1 ). Third-best in pass blocking ( +4.4 ), he’s allowed one hurry.

new Redskins DE, veteran Jason Hatcher (2013 Pro Bowler for Dallas), has registered four sacks, two QB hits, and five QB hurries through three games. Although sack-less against the Eagles he still managed his highest pass rush grade ( +5.3 ) since PFF began the analysis.

GIANTs

The Giants’ offense has been inconsistent so far this season, but the defensive line has been a strength. Former 1st R pick DE Robert Ayers leads the Giants in pass rush ( +4.2 ) and overall ( +7.5 ) grades. Last week the Giants blitzed on just nine of 43 Houston drop-backs, but generated some form of pressure 19 times. Ayers, Cullen Jenkins , and Johnathan Hankins have combined for five sacks, three QB hits, and 13 hurries.

veteran DE (and former 1st R pick) Mathias Kiwanuka broke out last week with four hurries, a hit on the quarterback, and solid play in run defense (+1.7 ).

Giants OT William Beatty recovered from a -1.2 mark in the opener to post consecutive strong games. He’s now sitting at +6.8 overall, second among offensive tackles.

25-year-old TE Larry Donnell (undrafted) has yet to drop a ball that was deemed catchable out of 18 and last week also played well in another facet, earning a +2.2 in run blocking, the highest of his career. (and ESPN wrote: Tight end Larry Donnell has been the most targeted Giants receiver this season (23). Donnell has twice as many receiving first downs (12) than the next highest Giants receiver, including five of the team’s nine passing conversions on third down. Last season Giants tight ends combined for nine third-down conversions.")

that dude is going off. 3 TD catches today (all 3 of the Giants' TDs), 6 total receptions for 40 yds...and it's not even half time
