Can our bad blockig be attributed to receivers?

Everyone is talking about how bad our blocking is, but I don't think it can be explained entirely to the line. It's bad, sure, but it shouldn't be this much worse than last season. That got me thinking - the sudden awfulness could be explained a bit by the fact we lost three excellent run-blockers. Who are they? Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell, and Ben Hartsock. To my knowledge none of our tight ends or receivers are anything special in the blocking game, but those three all excelled as run blockers. Hartsock might be the biggest loss, as PFF ranked him as the best TE last year. Without a reliable edge blocker, our backs are far more limited in what they holes can anticipate.

not really, especially not for pass protection.  there have been too many runs already in the short year where the backs where hit in the backfield by DT's, you cant contribute that to the WR's.  I dont have much confidence in Amini, Turner is a rookie and we have already gone against two of the better DT's in the league.  Maybe it is time for Valesco to get more playing time, particularly at the LG spot.  then there is weird thing where the Panthers line has taken 5 or 6 games before they gelled a little bit.  you also have to consider 4 new starters outside of Kalil from last year.
