Hurst...the guy so many of us on the Huddle were clamoring for during the draft.

 

This could get interesting. 

 

oh yeah. If he has a solid game against us I'll be one of the first ppl to say I TOLD YA SO! He can't be any worse than BB or NC.

Hate it for Monroe, wanted him in a Panthers uniform since he was drafted by Jacksonville. Hopefully this will be the edge our defense needs to get back on track.

This is setting up for the PERFECT STORM. 

 

Lots of people on the huddle (myself included, NCSU fans included) wanted the Panthers to draft Hurst as high as the 4th round. When he went undrafted - we wanted the Panthers to sign him immediately. From all accounts, the Panthers showed ZERO interest in the former UNC OT. 

 

Going to be very, very interesting to see how he plays against us. Could be another one of those SMFH moments if he has a big game and a strike on Dollar Tree Dave.

My point being that Hurst can play. He shut your boy Clowney down last year when they went head to head. I still can not fathom that Hurst went undrafted, and I still find it hard to believe that Dollar Tree Dave didn't go after him as an UDFA - because Gettleman and the Panthers probably had the best scouting report on him in the NFL. The only college football program in the entire state that puts players into the NFL is in Chapel Hill.

Actually we had quite a bit before tagging Hardy, tendering Bell, signing several receivers, giving Gano a four year deal, and signing random defensive backs to multi-year deals. Actually we still have cap room...
