Should we sit Cam?

  1. 1. Should the Panthers sit an injured Cam and go with DA?

    • Yes - sit Cam to allow him to heal

    • No - play Cam even if he's dinged up

    • Maybe - play Cam but only if we bring back the QB runs

DA is not a better option starting IMO. As we have seen, the Bucs are terrible and he almost throw a pick 6 to lose the game, if Goldson had only caught the ball. IF the defense regresses then we are going to need strong QB play.

Rather have a limited Cam than DA tbh.

We just need to adjust our game plan and block like we did in the TB and Detroit game.

Yes, sit him. Let DA take over. Hers another thing to think about. What happens if we sit him, DA has a excellent year and we have to sign Cam to a big contract after the season. What happens?! We still dont know if he will ever be 100% after he has had a season to heal, so do we just sign him to a mega deal and cross our fingers and gamble he will be back to full form?! What if we do that and he comes back like RGIII and never gets back to full form?! Meanwhile we have 100 plus million tied up in him.

Things can get very very intresting fast.. Also what if DA signs with another team after his banner year, come next season Cam gets his cotract, hes still nkt back to form and we will be without DA to save us. Sue the complete opposite could happen and we live happily ever after, but you have to look at all angles

I have to admit, I have never seen fans freak out about ever little thing or act like their team is the most together team like u Panther's fan.

U want to bench Cam because he cannot run? Instead of using the man's situation as a moment to say, hey team we want a better O - line and running game, u much prefer benching ur QB who is playing as well as 90% of the QBs and he's not 100%.

Hey, since it's starting to look way to obvious that the Panther's don't know what to do with their player, why don't u trade Cam now instead of giving him a new contract? Seeing how some of u think. No need to waste millions on a QB who isn't 100%. I am sure a lot of teams will take a 80% Cam with a record like his and build around him anyday. SMH

Serious question for you...are you on drugs?

Absolutely.

People forget that we were one gift interception away from losing at Tampa. I like DA a lot, but he's a backup for a reason.

As an aside, I'm a bit concerned that Cam hasn't recovered better from his offseason surgery. Hopefully, it's okay and is still healing properly, but it seems to be a very slow process.

The way I see it, Cam looks pretty spry at the start of the game. He is still doing his flying around and body bumps with everyone during pre-game. So, I believe he is relatively healthy at game time.

Now, to me, because he isn't 100% he isn't able to avoid the hits that this year he is taking. You hardly ever see Cam take a big hit. He always finds a way to lessen the impact. However, this year, so far anyway, he has been getting hit hard, fallen on, twisted, and rolled on. Every tackle seems to be bad.

Whether that is perception on my/our part. Or reality of Cam's immobility. It seems to be keeping him from getting healthy. He needs a game or two of not getting beat the fug up. He seems to be relatively healthy at game time. But by the end of the game, he looks beat up. Protect him. Keep him clean. Let him heal.

Ah hellz, I don't know what I'm trying to say. Resting him isn't the answer. Protecting him is.

My answer is that it depends.  If it's a situation where sitting him for a week or two would allow him to get close to 100%, then I think you have to sack up and do it.  If it's a situation where it's going to take him quite a bit longer than that to get there and he's not risking serious injury by playing, then I think you let him continue to play.  On the other hand, if he's putting himself at a significantly higher risk of a serious injury by playing in his current condition, then I think you have to do the right thing for both the player AND the franchise and sit him.

Basically, only the medical staff can answer this question.

I said yes, with the full understanding that there no chance he gets benched Sunday.

He's banged up, behind a shitty line, facing a vicious Baltimore pass rush, and can't move and elude like he normally can. I said sit him, not for performance reasons, or because I think DA can do things Cam can't at this point. But I think he needs to be sat to heal up, because if he can't move, it'll be like a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat. And if he gets teed off on, he might be out for an extended period.

Sit him until he can run. Not because we need him to run for the sake of offensive production, but for self-preservation.

Get off cams dick hes the franchise qb if he is good enough to suit up he plays period. To even have to speculate this is just mind boggling... Cams Dinged up which comes with the game sometimes but im 100% sure hes still more mobile then like 85% of the league.. Its ok for Tom Brady. brett farve. manning off surgery. Big ben. Phillip Rivers of ACL. AROD broken collarbone. Tony ROMO..... But CAM? oh no i think we we should bench a 25 yr old freak athlete cause he a lil dinged up... Those other names mentioned their "WARRIORS" and should play by all means no questions asked smh fuggin ridiculous FOH..

Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. Well, I'll be damned!

So true!!!

What seem to be going over so many heads is the fact that Cam is not only showing that he can sit in the pocket, but at 80% he's still quite dangerous player on this team to other teams. Why does such obvious things go right over some Panther's fans heads?

the kid played great on Sunday. And had he been afforded a consistent RB where he didn't always have to throw the ball, the outcome could have been different, minus the miscue by the Special team and the fumble that shouldn't have happened.

It was sad watching Cam work so hard, only to always be criticized by fans who seem so ungrateful. The most precious commodity on a team should be the QB. I guess not with some Panther's fans.
