Steve Smith now in the top-ten for most 100-yard games

Reggie has a ring for his resume. Let Smitty win a ring and then I agree with your inequality.

Let's see,

Reggie Wayne with Peyton Manning almost his entire career and then getting Luck with a real focus on offensive upgrades during off seasons

vs

Steve Smith not being getting many reps at the beginning of his career, having Jake Delhomme as his main QB on defensive oriented teams most of his career, still balling out at 35 years old

If anything, Steve Smith would have had a better resume if he and Wayne switched teams.

Biggest inequality though is Smith's height vs Wayne's height.

Smitty and Andre Johnson have similar detractors to overall stat compiling. Played alot of games w/crap at QB. John McClain (Houston reporter) who is on the HOF Selection Commitee already has his speech ready to nominate AJ just by listing stats and then listing his QBs. Smitty has more TDs by a long shot and did play in a Superbowl. Smitty >> AJ. Smitty also has more playoff TDs than Reggie Wayne who was in the playoffs almost every friggin year.

Smitty: 9 Playoff games: 11 TDs (only made playoff 4 years)

Wayne: 18 Playoff games: 9 TDs (made playoff 10 years)

Smitty is currently #11 for all time playoff TDs (including running backs). 1 more and he ties for 7th, 2 and he ties with Marcus Allen at 6th.

There's no way Wayne should get into the HOF before Smitty...in a just world.

sounds like excuses to me. Reggie Wayne's ring is heavier than any of these excuses.

Wayne had the advantage of Manning (at least top 3 QB of all time) as his QB the majority of his most productive years, having another amazing receiver (possible HOF) in Marvin Harrison on his team. Add on that he was a first round draft pick, is taller, was on a pass first offense...

Not hard to explain how Wayne, who is a talented player and worthy of recognition for his accomplishments, has been greatly helped by his circumstances. Meanwhile, Steve smith was a third round draft pick who was drafted solely because of his return skills and nothing else, had an average to below average QB most of his career, was on a run first team, broke his leg and missed an entire season, was doubled teamed his entire career... Yet still managed to have an equally successful career and in comparison the only thing he didn't do was win a ring which is heavily team dependent.

If only smith had a ring I could easily say Smith, without a doubt, was the better WR than Wayne. Maybe he still has a chance.

Smitty looks to dominate Monday Night versus the Taints.

OWINGS MILLS – As one would expect, Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith loves playing on Monday night. Asked why, Smith explained it as only Smith would.

“Family members get to see you play,” Smith said. “Ex-girlfriends, they wish they wouldn’t have dumped you.”

Smith is looking forward to playing Monday night in New Orleans, a place he used to visit regularly during 13 seasons with the Panthers competing in the NFC South. New Orleans also holds fond memories for the Ravens, who won the Super Bowl in there two seasons ago. mith had four 100-yard receiving games through Week 6, but hasn’t had one since. The bye came at a good time for Smith to recharge his legs. He spent Tuesday looking at tape with wide receiver coach Bobby Ingram, and came away encouraged.

“I looked at plays that I made, and I looked at the plays I didn’t make,” Smith said. “Just was real with myself. What can I do to help? I walked in kind of down. I walked out of there encouraged, because there’s a lot of things I did great, there was a few things I need to improve on. I need to be more dependable in certain areas. That falls on me. That doesn’t fall on Joe (Flacco), that doesn’t fall on coach (Gary) Kubiak, that doesn’t fall on (John) Harbaugh or anybody. That falls directly on me.”

Hopefully he tears the Taints a new one.
