Why is the Ravens game this week on CBS?

When NFC teams travel to play AFC teams, isn't it usually on Fox (and CBS when AFC travel to NFC)?

In all seriousness though, there probably weren't enough games to fill CBS's afternoon quota, so they stole an AFC-NFC game. 

 

This happened once before this season, Falcons-Bengals week 2.

without flexing our game to CBS, there would have been 6 sunday games on fox and only 4 sunday games on CBS

 

They must have something in their new contracts guaranteeing at least 5 sunday games.

In another huge change, the NFL will branch their flex scheduling out by freeing up the ability to choose which network the regular season Sunday games will air on. For years, the conferences have been split between channels – with CBS and the AFC presently in one corner opposite Fox and the NFC – which has led to many a weekend when big games had to go unwatched only to have unimportant games between the Bills and the Browns on instead. (Zing!) But now the league can pretty much do whatever it wants, thus allowing audiences access to the best games every week.

It has to do with contracts and legal bullshit. Basically Fox and CBS "trade" games in a convoluted system I could never explain.Fox Is running Packers/Bears against our CBS broadcast in Charlotte. So maybe Fox wanted that game to get more eyes.

AFC teams generally play on CBS. Baltimore is the host. Pretty simple concept.
