Ferrari QB used like a '85 Camry

what escapes these people is that it's not just a matter of raw measurables.

this line of thinking is how you get people arguing that andrew luck would be just as much of a threat on the ground as cam but he chooses to be a pocket passer because he's more "cerebral" or whatever. it's understandable why someone would think that but it doesn't hold up well if you actually watch them play.

Luck is the same size as Cam, and has the same straight line speed, but he has the mobility of a rock compared to Cam. Luck doesn't have Cam's rushing stats the same reason Tom Brady doesn't; they can't run the football.

Not even Michael Vick had Cam's ability as a runner.

Big ben is the same type of QB as cam. If anything Cam is more athletic. Big Ben takes a lot of sacks too and gets hit a lot.

Difference is Big ben has better pocket awarness. He slides around, pump fakes, steps up etc ... instead of panicking and bailing from the pocket at the 1st sign of pressure. That's what cam is missing from his game. He's been more accurate this year. We need a better online of course, but Cam needs to work on pocket awareness

Ben is in his 10th year. You think Big Ben did that early in his career?

Well said, why have a ferrari if your gunna drive it slow? Why have cam newton if your not gunna use him the right way? Look at the 49ers how they use kap , imagine we still used cam the same? We had cam in chud offense lookibg amaxing top 10 offense , no way in hell chud offense was perfect bur it was better then shula we need a more aggressive oc

This. Cam is starting to show the effects of being the most hit QB in the NFL since he entered the league. We've been using our Ferrari in demolition derbies for too long. I just hope he hasn't and won't developed some injuries that are going to linger down the road.

Give the guy some weapons and see what happens. Start treating him like ur Franchise QB and preserve him. 4 seasons of playing with what he has isn't showing u want to keep him.

    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
    • Clearly the best outcome for us is a Giants W. A spot or two difference in the 4th round is inconsequential. Just look at the trade value charts. A spot or two at the top of the 1st means a LOT. A spot or two in the mid-rounds? Virtually nothing.
    • Agree. I don't think I have ever heard him say anything positive, at any time, about the Panthers. Best expectation is no mention at all.
